I have made multiple posts about reaching the point of blacking out/numbness/vision lost, but not actually losing consciousness which is what I'm researching. So, this may be be good educational knowledge for some people if you are in a similar situation.

I actually like having the rope sightly below my adams apple and compressing my carotid artery that way. I know it will equally cut my airways but it not painful at first. Attempting this way was the second time that I could feel involuntary muscle contractions in my leg. Anatomy and knowing where the carotid artery is helpful.

I have a 6mm rope from a hardware store. I bought it a while ago but remember the guy saying it could take up to 250km weight before Being compromised (I weight around 60 kg).

I've tried partial many times and it has not worked for me. I tried full suspension last year and the pole that my ligature pint was tied to came out of the wall. Left me with a concussion, convulsions and a massive bruise around my next but sadly did not ctb.

After doing more research I'm thinking full is the way to go. I've secured my rope to door nob on the back of my door. It's a relatively new and solid door. I used the suggest knot for the ligature point. I've then thrown the top of the rope over the other side of the door and carved out a little divot at the top of the door to keep the rope in place and allow me to close the door. The noose is a slip knot. It's just high enough that if I stand on a step latter and then push the step ladder away, my feet can't touch the ground and I'll most likely die from strangulation from the rope cutting off my airway. To reduce the pain and discomfort of this, I have secured a reasonable supply of oxys to take before I CTB hoping this will help with pain and SI.

I have tested the strength of the door and know it can hold my weight using a crowbar. Put the crowbar through the noose. It could take my full weight and did not budge when I was thrashing around to try to simulate what might happen when I actually go through with it.

I'm 35. I've wanted to die since as early as I can remember. Fear of pain and it not working is the only reason I'm still here. But I've had enough and I'm ready to go and be at peace.

I live alone and am quite isolate so there is next to no chance any one could interrupt. I will take my cat to the cattery so that he is well cared for in case it takes several days for them to find my body.

Any feedback on my method and/or anything I have missed would be greatly appreciated.

What would be preferable for hanging, a dumbbell on the other side of the door or using a portable pull-up bar? Or maybe other methods that would be good indoors?? Also I'm really tall so i was thinking getting something so my legs are tied (making me short enough to ensure a full suspension. drew a sketch of what i mean

What would be the purpose of the dumbbell if the ligature point is strong enough and the knot won't budge under the necessary weight and potential thrashing? I'm tall so partial from a portable pull up bar wouldn't be high enough for me.

I'm worried about the thickness of the rope, isn't it too thin? For full suspension, 10 - 12 mm.

A thicker rope (10-12mm) will be more comfortable, but you shoild only need to deal with that for 10 seconds or less.

A noose knot is for professional hangings...think execution.
Try an overhand loop knot. It makes a small loop you can feed the other end of the rope through. That makes a perfect ligature with almost no knot skills.

Thank you for sharing these links. I've tried to hang myself yesterday and as I was choking, my SI kicked in and I chickened out.

For the rope placement I've tried placing it inbetween my Adam's apple and chin but it was very uncomfortable and it's what made me back out granted I was only in the position for less than 10 secs, but I didn't experience the loss of consciousness or blacking out as others have mentioned here. I definitely could've died from choking but I'd like to minimize the amount of pain if I have to experience any.

I will try later if placing it below the Adam's apple will be a better experience. I've been reading a lot in this forum and there seems to be conflicting information for rope placements so I guess I'll just try and try until I succeed. I just want to black out as soon as possible and get it over it. Damn survival instinct.

Are there any videos to show the process of kneeling down?

Thank you for this. I'm planning on taking lots of oxys so I'm hoping this will help with the pain part of it and with working up the courage to kick to step ladder out of the way

its not exactly full suspension seeing as my feet will most likely be dangling on the ground once I kick the step ladder away. I'm tall and the door isn't that tall either. The rope can take enough weight to hold me, I've tested it several times. Should I still be worried?

I don't care about the pain if it being so thin. Hopefully I'll be high enough from the oxys that it won't matter.

Also I've read in many places that a slip knot is the best for full and partial. When testing it, I added some Vaseline to the rope to make sure it slid and when I added weight to it it slid through really easily and tightened very tight on my neck with just a bit of weight (not my full weight)

Does it tie easily and hold a knot?
Is it flexible enough to do the job?
Double braided dock line that size has a working load closer to1600 pounds.

Ok. I worry that a 1/2 inch rope with a working load of 250 pounds is low quality. Many of those have a cheap core and a pretty wrap. (Harbor Freight) They look like rope!
If you ease into it, it should work. No dropping. That would create a load spike grester than 250 pounds.

The everbilt has a working load limit of 650 lbs... I'm leaning towards that tbh compared to the other pick
Also is it better to try and tie the rope around the doorknob or get something like a dumbell and tie it there? Chris cornell made it sound so easy........

Any advice on using the belt from a bathrobe? I've tied it into a slipknot and tested it, and it works pretty well I suppose.

Just ease into it. A robe belt is not a rope. It may hold you, but cannot survive the impact load.

Hello, I wanted to give my own report (experience) to this:

So first of all, the key differences between Partial and Full are comfort, difficulty, and adjustability. There's no "best" option, as both achieve the same outcome. The ideal choice depends largely on your location and current circumstances.

Partial suspension: Following the OP's instructions, pressure must be applied to the carotid artery. To find it, place the center of your hand over your Adam's apple, then position your thumb and middle finger on either side of your neck. Carefully move your fingers until you feel a pulse.



Some people had trouble finding it, or they experienced negative effects. The important thing is applying the right amount of pressure. This pressure will differ depending on your body; some need more, others less. If the right amount of pressure is applied, you'll pass out within 5~10 seconds.

However, be warned: this action is irreversible. Before attempting this method, be absolutely certain of your decision. Once initiated correctly, even in partially suspended, your body will become completely immobile. You will experience an overwhelming sensation of weight.

Which rope?
It doesn't matter what you chose as long as it's: Smooth and robust.

Full suspension: The difficulty of this method varies greatly depending on your location and available options. It's essentially identical to Partial unless you decide to drop yourself from a certain distance. If you drop just right you'll black out instantaneously. You shouldn't do this unless you know what you're doing.


Success, Pain and Speed

No sense, in 15 seconds you should no longer feel anything and be unconscious. If you are choking/suffocating, it means you did something wrong.

Maybe it's a good idea not to kick the chair away* so that you have somewhere to go back to and review the situation

*(instead of kicking it, spread your legs out to the sides so that it is in the middle while you hang)

Partial - would higher, or lower blood pressure on the day be preferable ?

When on ritalin 50mg (long-acting) i think i notice my veins a bit more (heartbeat increased at the very least).
(This is just a subjective observation as i think the actual mechanisms im talking about may be a little more complicated)
Sometimes people seem to have trouble finding the carotid veins to put enough pressure onto - like maybe they're buried too deep in the neck.
and i think i recall someone else mentioned that for them, practice seemed to push on the veins a bit, making them almost recede in more or something, meaning they would have to wait for another day, cant hit the same sweet spot again (but dont take my word for it, this is just something i thought i remembered reading)
So i thought it may be possible that taking ritalin on one of those days could help.
But on the other side, maybe increased blood flow isnt a good thing if the whole point is trying to cut it off with pressure.
So im not sure if its a better idea to take, or to avoid ritalin.
(& i honestly doubt someone has the answer to this one since its so specific & i guess may not actually affect much)


And do i need to remember anything else, like to avoid swallowing, or hold my breath or anything during the process ?
(im the kind of person where small details like that always get in the way, so i always need to overthink)

ive practiced many times, for me it sometimes leaves a small red mark for an hour or so, It depends on how much pressure you put.I dont need to put much pressure as I seem to pass out very quickly when I hit my sweet spot. I also use a sock as padding to ease the digging feeling in my neck and help a bit with the red mark, but ive heard that it makes it harder for some people to pass out. doesnt affect me though.
