i just survived a suicide attempt by partial suspension AMA
about 2 days ago i attempted suicide with a hdmi cord and in all honestly it was very quick and painless, I only survived because I tied the cord incorrectly so when I spasmed I must of slipped out of it somehow. AMA

I have made multiple posts about reaching the point of blacking out/numbness/vision lost, but not actually losing consciousness which is what I'm researching. So, this may be be good educational knowledge for some people if you are in a similar situation.
I actually like having the rope sightly below my adams apple and compressing my carotid artery that way. I know it will equally cut my airways but it not painful at first. Attempting this way was the second time that I could feel involuntary muscle contractions in my leg. Anatomy and knowing where the carotid artery is helpful.
