Discussion How much alcohol do you drink per day, and how do you compare to the stats?

i'm in the top 20%, and i'm probably averaging 4-6 drinks per day. I've only been drinking like this for just under two months. I'm going to CTB soon anyways so i don't really care.

Where do you guys rank? How much do you drink, and what do you drink?

Ive got over twenty days sober right now,the longest Ive gone in years.I wanted to try out of desperation to see if sobriety would help me, as some said it would.Plus I don't have the money for that shit right now.Before I quit I was having at least 12 drinks a day(about a pint and a half).Rot gut vodka,straight shots..Im still not sure if I feel better or worse.I think I feel more numb,maybe dead inside.At least my toxicology will come back clean when/if I CTB.They cant "blame it on the booze".

I used to drink around 4-6 drinks per day, mainly beer but sometimes gin when I could afford it. I've cut it back to mostly just on the weekends and it has helped me some. It used to be the only thing I looked forward to, every night it was like an escape where things felt brighter and funnier and more normal, but eventually it was all I was doing. Started to feel empty, emptier than I usually did, and seemed to make me want to CTB even more. Now, I still feel that urge but it's quieter, certainly. Day to day doesn't feel as empty when all I'm looking forward to is getting drunk. Finding other things that I enjoy, replaying old games on emulators, browsing around here and interacting with all you lovely people. It has helped. Hope it helps you all too, if you make that choice to cut back that is.

I seem to be drinking around 6 nights of the week, averaging around 30 units a week which I don't think is too bad. I drink around 3 cans of cider a time, or a whole bottle of wine or nearly a bottle of malibu or around 9 units of gin, I try and mix it up a bit so I don't have the same drink every night. Sometimes I'm still drunk when I go to work in the morning and start having a hangover around midday. It gives me a fuzzy feeling and helps me push reality away for a short time. I started drinking when my mom died nearly a year ago now. Like mukluk0713 I look forward to a drink when I come home in the evenings. I'm glad, mukluk0713, that you've started to find comfort in other things and hope you continue to do well

I don't drink. Used to... lots but quit after a bout of alcohol induced psychosis... not pretty..

The only alcohol I drink is the Precious Blood when I receive Communion -- a sip once or twice a week. The Precious Blood is confected out of sweet rosé wine. I would suppose that I am in the fourth decile of the chart. I have never drunk very much. My late father was an alcoholic, as was one of his sisters and their father (who died when my father and aunt were children): also, one of my brothers has had trouble with alcohol and drugs, though I think he is now sober. Anyway, I have an addictive personality and am afraid to get myself hooked on boozing and getting high. I have enough trouble with my tendency to buy too many books, clothes, and jewelry, as well as eating too many sweets.

0. I don't drink. Engaged in binge drinking a few years ago but didn't make me feel anything, to be honest. Never got very drunk despite my small size. So, I quit.

I used to drink often but it was a toss up between wine and vodka. Strange enough I could never get drunk only buzzed. I can't do it that much now but I don't really care too much about it now.

If you know me on this forum, you will know I like my rum, but I can take it or leave it. Without it most of the time I am a grumpy evil person, drink hide's that.
I can have a day or two of binge drinking, then I can go day's without, I normally drink again as it doesn't make me feel suicidal, I actually feel less likey to want too when drunk, I know it can be the opposite for many. I mean I feel it 90% of the time anyway, but drink hides it more for me!

I'm probably between the sixth and seventh decile. I don't really drink except during certain events, or special occasions, and the longest I went without a drink was probably over several months.

We buy a couple of bottles of vodka once a year from whichever place we go on holiday and that usually lasts us the whole year, birthdays and Christmas included. I drank a lot more from age 18 to 30.

I think they go by: 1 can of beer or 1 glass of wine or 1 shot of hard liquor= 1 drink..Thats how the state I live in categorizes it.

Ohnin that case it varies from I guess 16-30 drinks a day. So in a week I can hit over 200. On stupid weeks 300. Easilly.

I've never quit alcohol (I'm at least 90th percentile myself), but generally with quitting an addiction, you initially feel worse, then you feel better a couple weeks to months later then you feel worse a couple months later before you start feeling truly better.

I consume approximately a six pack daily.

I'm basically tea total. I don't like losing control, I've seen what happens when I do. I don't want to think I'm better than I am, there's enough people on youtube for that

I was extremely close to becoming an alcoholic when I fell ill so I never drink on my own anymore. I don't mind having a beer or a drink with a friend on weekends, though.
