Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Since I've been a few months here, it's hard to me to identify them. But one rule of the Internet says: "Internet troll are obvious". If their threads of responses doesn't contribute to anything, or their story has plotholes, or they harass others, then it's a troll. But I've found a lot of genuine people here that asked for some help or acceptance about their decisions to die, as I searched also and found it.
Honestly no matter how safe and secure a website is, there is always going to be a trolls lurking around waiting to strike. Unless something happens in the future where every part of the internet is heavenly censored by the government then there is no end to trolls.
Best thing you can do really is learn about common shit they pull off and keep an eye out.
There will always be some on any given website but I haven't seen too many on SS. However I must disagree with trolls often being obvious - many of them skirt the line of plausibility in order to stay under the radar. My guess is that most trolls on here are in fact pretty anonymous, with the aim of being able to stick around and witness the nitty gritty of ctb-related topics and derive some form of satisfaction from the morbidity of the goodbyes/death topics.

What if that's what you and I are doing without even knowing it? We've both made 1000 posts - definitely some "satisfaction" staying here. And even the morbidity, it just feels real, I suppose my argument would be it's often more relatable for me.
