How many of you have been let down by mental health services?

In UK they've let me down massively and actually cause me more distress and make me feel like I'm the problem because it's all in your head. NHS are especially disgusting the way they treat you.

3 years ago I was so lucky to have support and a cmht that truly cared. Then the good ones left to work elsewhere. Now I have no real support, been dumped.

I've been let down by every single treatment. They all promise high success rates but oddly enough, not a single one has helped in any meaningful way. The most that I've gotten out of any of it was a few "Oh, is it working? I think it might be working, oh wait no it's not." moments if you know what I mean. Lots of money has went into wasted time and false hope and now I'm not even permitted euthanasia despite years of terrible suffering with not nearly enough good times to justify it.

I've tried everything except for ect and have invested all of my willpower over the years in self help and whatever stuff that you get recommended by your doctors. I'm so worn down and am sick of this life. It's only gotten worse and I've only began to feel more powerless. It's still ingrained in me to play it down sometimes if I feel like the truth won't be well recieved, but I'm really sick of it all.

Every single time that I go into treatment, I am told that my odds of success are enough to practically insure that I get better but guess what, it just doesn't happen.

I was discharged from Psych ward in France at early january 2023. It was horrible.
I prefer the public health system in Spain. It is a llittle more "human", althtough still strict with medications and disability status.
I don't want to sound a conspirational but I always think if the events really happened and the bitch psychiatrist who diagnosed me as identity disorder is onl.y invented to please my parental family.
Anyway. I want to drop the meds but I'm in my aunt's house so she supervised my dosage.

The kicker is getting kicked out for not engaging when engaging is one of the things we struggle with the most.

Yes. They failed me spectacularly and got away with it all. They are get away with a lot.

I engaged with my local mental health services for 2yrs between 2018 and 2020 and by then l'd arrived at the same conclusion as ever other poor sod who've wasted their time with those incompetent dimwits, that the so called MHS could'nt catch a cold in the winter time!

Which country are you in, and have you been let down by the mental health system?

I'm no conspiracy theorist but clearly there's something majorly wrong in many parts of the U.K at least, with mental health services. I keep asking myself why is it that those who are genuinely suicidal not receiving the help, meanwhile those who make a gesture attempt seem to be having ongoing support for years. I dont mean that they dont need help and support clearly they do. But do you notice that mental health seem to give up on some people...

I'm just reflecting a lot because, I specifically asked for help, I wrote a letter to a psychiatrist about 4 months ago begging them to try and help me out because all this was brewing. the MH team took me on. But now, despite me turning up to every appointment since and phoning the nurse like twice a week in floods of tears, and despite going into the psych ward recently for an attempt, being locked up by the police for hanging in the woods and now having all I need to CO poison myself in a tent in the next week.. i got a letter today saying i'm not engaging.

i'm really shocked for other's sake. How is the system so messed up; I don't care about my own impending death... but I am shocked for people who are mentally ill, who maybe don't have capacity to decide much at all let alone their suicide with clarity ... They are left. And then we all say ''aww poor person'' when we read about these high suicide rates in the papers.
Conclusion they really don't care, the majority of them.

I'm in the UK here we have CAMHS for young people with mental problems which are a whole bunch of shit the advice they give to severe PTSD,Depression,Self Harm and Suicide Attempts is to go on a walk/have a bath/have tea or some shit like that

They also totally invalidate you and make your problems out to be less then they are

I used to volunteer for the local MH service and it was not what I expected. They don't care. When someone succeeds, all they do is try to cover their own backs so there isn't any trouble for them. The majority are not bothered if you genuinely want help.

That is because they are there for profit. Profit beats it all.
