Especially for things like the date or even the year you did something?

Mine is terrible. I can usually recall doing something, just about but, I'm hopeless when it comes to remembering when.

My Dad is the same. So, maybe it's genetic. I think also though, there are great chunks of life I'd just rather forget so, maybe my brain is just wired to try and forget things. How about you?

My short term memory is terrible. Brain fog from severe depression + ME/CFS is not doing me any favors.

Long term memory is not much better, last 10 years is just a blur.

I have memory loss (probably because of benzos and fatigue). The other day I started two loads of laundry the same day (the same clothes... I didn't take them out the first time...) And other bad things like this. I have to write everything down.

Terrible. I have been experiencing fairly intense brain fog since 2015, so I have issues with both short term and long term recall, as well as piecing together my life in any meaningful way. I don't have a good sense of chronology or even things like distance when traveling. I've also been prone to occasional bouts of confabulation, where I've somehow made up things that I thought happened, but didn't.

Short-term memory destroyed, long-term memory still in tact. Should be the other way around.

I have the short term memory of a goldfish, and dissociative amnesia of most past events and mundane time that passes.

I started perimenopause and pretty much have no memory left. This is normal except I started about 12 years early so I have the brain of a 52 year old in a 40 year old body..

The odds of me having good memory were stacked against me from the beginning. Whatever happened to me in childhood was either so boring or so traumatic that I barely have any recollection of anything leading up me being 10 years old. Following that, academic stress ruined my memory even more since I was consistently depriving myself of sleep out of a need to regain control over my life, so I don't remember anything spanning the mandatory American education period as well as anything that occurred during that time. Depression makes memory even worse, so now, I barely remember what happened a couple hours ago

Moral of the story: If you tell me a secret, believe me when I say no one will ever know, not even me in a few hours
