now, i know plenty of you have terrible days every day, i understand. i was like this for several long, miserable months. for those that have even the tiniest bit of joy in life, what makes you tick? what ruins your day? it's very little for me. earlier in a gym class i wasn't paying attention and i kicked a ball in the wrong direction and hit someone in the leg. they didn't even care, just gave me a goofy look and i grinned at them and said sorry. i didn't show it but that alone killed me. i felt so guilty. i felt like sobbing. small, insignificant stuff like that makes me feel like even more of a mistake. anyone else as sensitive as i am?

Hiya, some people are definitely more sensitive and empathetic and that's good - world would be dull as hell if we were all the same!

The person you hit ACCIDENTALLY was fine, you both smiled and no harm was done so let that go. Don't beat yourself up over it. It's a good technique to say to yourself "right, I'm going to allow myself five minutes by the clock to feel really awful about this" then after that five minutes is up you are to put it out if your mind. You can't change it and it's over

:-) you've been doing really well these last few days you're bound to have a few ups and downs but don't let the little things grow into big monster size things when they are not xx

I'm very sensitive too. If I am upset for any reason, I cry. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's annoying and inconvenient. But I can't help it.

Yes I posted here on SS looking for empathy and was harangued by my choice of words. Broke down crying hard for an hour and tried to walk out into traffic. Failed as traffic was too slow. People generally are a terrible species to be around and they will remind you regularly when you're already hurting. One of the many reasons not to be here anymore if you can help it.

Literally nobody "harangued" you, l was in that thread and I'm sorry but this is nauseatingly dramatic.

Hey my best wolf avatar, that's sad to read and I think it's a thing that can be a generic problem with the internet or a phone conversation in that when you can't see someone's face and feel their vibes you can often misconstrue how are are feeling and respond in a way that might be inappropriate to their mood.

For example, a sad person might write in a chipper or salty, acerbic manner - or a reader may interpret it that way and then things snowball.

Human communication can be so fraught at times when you're not next to someone and you can't see they are sad and just reach out and hug them.

*reaches over and gives you a hug*

I'm not doing this with you, Chinaski. If you want to write me off as dramatic that's your prerogative.

Edit: And by the way, you don't know what happened after that string of posts because it was deleted by mods. Nice try though.

i'm sorry but please have some empathy. hunter never meant to offend anyone or be dramatic. obviously she never had any bad intention. if you don't like the somebody's message you can try to kindly educate before coming down on them or being harsh. most of us are pretty sensitive here. we're all just trying to create a safe caring space for people going through some of the darkest of human thoughts / feelings / emotions. a bit of kindness goes a long way

This is froth tbqh, if a user is going to openly state on here that he or she was "harangued" by other users it's absolutely fair enough for other users who were literally there to point out that was definitely not the case.

You probably know, but you can ignore members by clicking on their profile and selecting "ignore". It's a lot easier than letting someone stress you out and adding to your burden.
Yeah you're right. Thanks.

I used to be super sensitive as a kid and would cry super easy, but its been a while since I've been able to have a good cry. I guess i started bottling things up and now idk how to release em properly. Back to the main question, if I'm having a good day any amount of anxiety usually ruins it. I start feeling sick, guilty, and terrible, blowing things out of proportion mentally. Other days my day is ruined by simply thinking too much, when i lie in bed at the end of the day and get overwhelmed by all my terrible thoughts.

Like a lot of people I used to be really sensitive, sometimes I'd get nervous a lot and my eyes would just start watering in public like I was crying it was embarrassing. Things can come up that ruin my day out of nowhere sometimes, even though I try not to let shit build up it just happens sometimes, what can you do? Sometimes it's just my dad coming home, which gives me a feeling like I shouldn't be here or maybe I haven't gotten to the dishes yet and he starts to do them, so I start feeling worthless like maybe I should have done those already. Sometimes it's just seeing other people happy and letting that get to me a little, or seeing people who are capable of being successful at being social with other people gets to me. There's too many things that can fuck a good day up I'll tell you that much.

Hi @Hunter, I know you were staying away from the site for various reasons but if you do browse I just wanted you to know I hope you're ok and I'm thinking of you. Take care

I'll add to this that it's far better to be like you and be sensitive to the fact you feel you hurt someone else because you care for other people than be one of those people who care only for themselves. Some people say they are "sensitive" but mean they only care if they feel hurt by an imagined offense to them , not whether they hurt anyone else or not.

Waking up does it most days...so pretty easy? Physical pain is always there ruining any consciousness. Otherwise the first instance of greed, unfairness, assholery I see or encounter will ruin whatever is left of the other days. It's so easy to NOT be a greedy, cruel, arrogant, asshole...but people choose it more often than not.

This. Couldn't have said it any better.

Damn. That girl may as well be a Sprite commercial.

sprite-fountain-tvc.jpg

But yeah, I do hate this internet culture where someone can basically make a living trading off their looks, earning an income by making pouty/kissy faces at the camera. Although another part of me thinks if people are dumb enough to pay you for it, then why not milk it.

Anyway, my days are so bad lately that everything is pretty much ruined by default. I have become almost numb to adversity. The last four or five years I've had so much bad shit happen that it's basically just this avalanche that I am powerless to stop. They always say to not sweat the small stuff but I'm at the point where I barely even sweat the big stuff.

Remembering that my boyfriend is dead usually does it. Sometimes I go along just not thinking too hard about him, but as soon as I start thinking too hard about that the fact that he was butchered in the street by a terrorist and he's gone forever, it's hard to get back from it. Everything else seems so purposeless and tortuous in light of that, like one long line of Sisyphean tasks. Or if I think too hard about the fact that I'll probably never find love again.
