• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

The title pretty much says it. How do you deal with the fear of failure?

I think if someone has their method planned all that they can do, is do as much research as possible into it to reduce the chance of it going wrong but of course it's very much understandable having the fear of failure as after all we exist in a world where we are denied the option of legalised assisted suicide, it's terrifying how suicide methods can go wrong.

If you followed the instructions properly and took all the precautions, you should be good. Most suicides fail because of a poor choice of method, backing off at the last minute due to SI, failure to follow protocol, or being found early. If you did everything in your power to ensure a successful attempt, you should only have a slim chance of failure. Every method can fail, it's something that you have to accept, but worrying too much over it is pointless. I personally just write off the fear as SI.

I would pick a reliable method that has a very high success rate and then do a lot of research so that I know everything about the method - both the good and bad. Then I would carefully plan everything out down to the last detail carefully considering in what ways my plan could fail.

I would write down all of the ways I fear that my plan could fail in order to identify them. Then I would disregard any irrational fears that aren't very likely to happen or ones that I have no control over. For any rational fears, I would consider realistically how likely they are to happen and what practical steps I could take to eliminate or lessen the chance of failure.
