i'm visiting family in philadelphia so i'm in apartment 14 stories high i used to work here so i may be able to get on top but i'm curious.. how the actual fuck do people get on top of buildings. i know there's a 60 story Comcast building in center city and a few other high rise and that would clearly guarantee death plus my grandma wouldn't have to see me dead in her driveway so i'm just wondering how people manage to get up there. like realistically i'm not stealing a janitors key or manipulating a receptionist to get through the exit stairwell or climbing up the top. i'm just so confused on how regular people get on the roof of buildings

Well, yeah, it's through some sort of stairwell that leads to a door that exits onto the roof.

I assume the only way to know is to explore in the building and see if the door to the roof is locked or not. Maybe someone might just coincidentally leave it unlocked and you can get a chance to access the roof? Or maybe become the janitor to access the roof?

Usually people jump from apartment buildings that they live in, either from the balcony of their apartment if they live high up, or they somehow gain access to the roof. If someone lives at a place long enough, they might eventually figure out how to get up there, like maybe the lock has a code and they eventually figure out that code.

Every building has an emergency exit on the roof! Some buildings set an alarm off and some don't. It depends on the type of building of course. Like Government buildings will have an alarm that will sound.

i tried my apartment building there's alarm system but i guess what i'll try to do is get on the roof at midnight. my former coworker who works the night shift will be working he's old only problem is maintenance and security guy lives on the 4th floor and could easily make his way to me.
