i want to avoid having someone i know discover my body. it would be much better if police found me first, but i don't know how to make this happen. i thought at first maybe i could just schedule a text to 911 and tell them where i would be (my address and where i am in the house), but iphones only let you schedule texts to other iphones. is there any other way to schedule some kind of communication with emergency services that would with near 100% certainty get seen and acted on? i live with my family so it would have to be a timely response. i would also need a way to unschedule in case i don't die.

Assuming you'd do this behind a closed door, an easier way would probably be to put a sign on the outside of the door urging the reader not to open it but to call EMS. That would be easy enough to take off if you failed or changed your mind.
Of course you can't guarantee they will obey the sign, but you also can't guarantee you wouldn't be coincidentally found/seen even if EMS was alerted first.

I like your name and photo by the way

If you can I would suggest doing it someplace outside the home, maybe in the woods if you have any deep enough where you are.

I think even if your family weren't the ones who initially discovered your body, the memory of emergency services bursting in without warning to try to administer care and then carrying off your body would likely stick with them.

I'm sure it's possible to send scheduled texts from an iPhone to a non-iPhone, just search for a guide. Or perhaps use a 3rd-party app. It's also a good idea to test it out beforehand by sending a scheduled text to another phone number to ensure it works.

*Note that while texting 911 is possible in the U.S., it is not available everywhere. https://text911.info/ - this site shows where in the U.S. you can text 911. I can't speak to regions outside the U.S.

Side note but have you considered choosing a more private location instead, such as a hotel? Even if police get to you first, you're gonna traumatize those who live with you more than you otherwise would in a more private setting. I mean if that's your goal, then you do you but I don't recommend it.

A scheduled FB post @ a police agency ? Idk how solid that would be.
