Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Especially south korea. guns are regulated, drugs are strictly regulated, and mostly used method is either hanging or jumping. feel like it'd be even higher if methods werent restricted.

Maybe I'm scaredy cat(yes its in my name) for finding more comfortable methods?

A lot of East Asian countries have societal pressures that can lead people to higher rates of depression. Students need to be at their peak and get into the best schools or they are a failure, workers need to put in 12+ hour days or they are not working hard enough, and things like mental health are very much not discusses or treated. Combine these factors and tiu get a dis-proportionately high suicide rate.

Take this with a grain of salt however, as reporting in less developed countries is not as robust so there may be many cases missed elsewhere in the world that would even it out.

Actually They have easier access to synthetics since it's near China. SN too, also pesticides and certain cleaning detergents aren't banned

I'm from Singapore, my thoughts are compared to Western countries, individuality is largely stifled as the culture favours conformity and the 'fear of losing out'.

I vaguely recall a Chinese saying here that roughly translates to 'The nail that sticks out is hammered down'. Sentiments like these prevent people from taking risks and lock them out of opportunities to discover themselves.

Couple that with the intense competition in academics and the workplace and you have a cookie cutter recipe for burnt out, depressed people without of a strong sense of self.

Personally I have different reasons for wanting to CTB, but this is what I observed while growing up here.

As others have said, probably because of increased societal pressures and other stigmas (especially stigmas concerning mental health) imposed upon people who live in those countries. Lack of work-life balance, and the pressure to succeed are probably also contributing factors.

I think the answer is kind of obvious tbh. They make the west look good in comparison. There are literally suicide nets in Asian countries and Japan has ridicously long working hours, same as China. There's a reason why they aren't having kids. They don't have time to.
