Help Hi hi! How much ibuprofen do people reckon you'd have to take to die?

I know its a sucky death and will hurt like a bitch and i'll be vomiting up my guts for a bit but have less than 3 quid in my bank account and with lock down still on no easy access high buildings. Hahaha. Anyways I'm not actually doing it yet but I really need to know that If I do have to then I have a way out. Thanks guys!

You cannot successfully ctb on overdosing on Ibuprofen. If you take a look at the Resources Thread, there you will find information on methods that will be successful. I am sorry that life has brought you to this point.

The only way to die from Ibuprofen is you need at least a tonne, and then have them fall on top of you.

A quick google shows it is possible to die from this, but it doesn't mention how much was taken.

The important point to take from this is that you don't die in the vast majority of cases, and it's therefore not reliable nor recommended as a method. Two fatalities out of a massive number of attempts is almost statistically meaningless.

Yeah I definitely agree it's not recommended, but in terms of semantics people have died from it I guess.

None, don't bother trying it. My earliest attempt was through overdose and it wasn't pretty.

Yes, agreed in terms of semantics. It's just that a lot of people here aren't familiar with statistics or the scientific method, or speak English fluently, and so might wrongly interpret your post as implying it is a viable method.

I think it's probably better! Someone drank bleach yesterday despite people saying it definitely wouldn't work so I wouldn't want to have encouraged anything merely by posting an unlikely statistic.

No amount of Ibuprofen will lead to death....only to a bleeding stomach ! Please don't try !

I have to say no to this one as well. Ibuprofen is toxic to kids at above 400 mg of drug per kg of bodyweight. For adults it almost always induces vomiting prior to reaching the toxic dose limit and doesn't adsorb enough before that gastric reflex kicks in violently to cause your kidneys to shut down. That's not to say high high doses won't do damage, just not the kind of damage that will cause catching the bus in anyone but an already compromised person.


In this case my recommendation whcih is strong is please don't try to catch the bus using an overdose of ibuprofen.

3 quid worth of ibuprofen will probably give any healthy person some gastritis and that's it. Maybe a little gastric bleeding. That's about it.

Hardly enough to send anyone into acute Renal failure.
