What if sacrificing life is a solution? It's wrong how we can have factory farming but if you want to sacrifice another creature for a spiritual pursuit that's when the gov gets involved.

Well, I gave the order to have all my children murdered in the womb so I didn't actually carry out their deaths but I still gave the order. I've killed insects, but I don't think I've killed any other bigger living creatures that I'm aware of.

I used to torture insects when i was a small child. I would, also, sometimes, be very cruel to my grandmother´s dogs and cats.
These behaviours were one of the main signs and symptoms that implied that something wasn´t right with me even at such a young age ( 3 or 4 years old).
Ironically, i couldn´t be farther from that posture as of now.
I literally love and care more about my 2 cats than any of my family members. These cats are spoiled as fuck. They are allowed to sleep in any place they want in my bedroom, they get treats, they get brushed and are petted several times day, my goodness!

Besides insects/spiders, no.

However when I was a little kid (like 9 or something) I owned a dwarf hamster and two rats. I bought the hamster and adored him. I taught him how to climb the stairs in my house and he was a really nice hamster. He never bit me and he liked it when I held him, he was a good companion. My mom bought the rats, I liked the rats but I wasn't wild about them like I was with my dwarf hamster.

However my mom unwisely thought it was a good idea to allow the hamster and rats to become "friends" and hang out with each other by leaving both of their cages open (their cages were next to each other). I initially thought this was a bad idea and told my mom I wasn't comfortable with that, but my mom persisted and as a small kid you kind of just agree with your parents when they assure you it'll be fine.

One day I walked in my room to hold my hamster and I found the rats had killed him. They also killed him in am extremely cruel and brutal way, they literally ate his brains. I freaked out and felt so bad for my little hamster for dying in such a cruel and disgusting way. I was furious at the rats and I was also upset at my mom because shes the one who allowed this to happen. I hate to admit it but in my anger I took the rats by their tails and swung them around smacking them against the metal fence in their cage. I didn't kill them or even harm them very badly (no blood), but I do remember hearing them shriek as they smacked the fence. I was angry and confused because part of me felt bad for hurting animals, I knew it was wrong but I was also a little kid who had just had his hamster murdered by these two rats so I wanted the rats to feel some of the pain my innocent hamster had endured.

We ended up giving the rats back to the pet store shortly after since I wanted nothing to do with them. In fact I remember I told my parents I wanted to just let the rats loose in the wild cause I hoped some predator would kill them as they killed my hamster.

Now that I'm older I realize that it wasn't the fault of the rats it was entirely my mothers fault. She should have known better and not have been so careless about the safety of my hamster, she also should have respected me saying I didn't want them together but she ignored that. I'm also not proud of my short violent act towards those rats, but I was a little kid and saw my hamsters murdered body in a brutal way so I forgive myself for temporarily losing control to my emotions.

However that image of my hamsters dead body is forever burned into my mind. It still bothers me when I picture it in my mind because the brutality of how he died isn't something meant for a child's eyes to see.

I understand you have your own issues with your reproductive decisions. However, referring to abortion as murder in the womb is hurtful.

My ex-wife had to have a late term abortion due to a severe chromosomal defect in the fetus' development. This still devastates her and I, and was likely the catalyst for our separation.

Please have some understanding and compassion. I'm sure you're aware not everyone considers it murder, and not everyone has a choice.

Having an abortion is an honorable thing to do. Look at the forum you're on. Anyone here should have a basic understanding of antinatalism and compassionate wisdom.

Anyway, I've killed insects intentionally. I stopped doing that a few years ago though.

Indirectly. I use to have tarantulas. I decided to put them all in one tank after a time to see what happened. It was always quick.

I know u guys don't see it as murder but I now believe that it was a living human in a premature state but with its DNA separate from the mother. Life does begin at conception and I felt grief over it and regret. Even though I never solved the issues which led to more abortions I still felt that it somehow was not natural what had happened to me. I felt really shitty about myself even though it seemed like the best decision at the time. It felt like I kept denying nature or something. I felt ungreatful and selfish for being blessed with extremely good fertility. Meanwhile there's all these women who would kill for a child and I kept throwing them away like garbage. It's hard to accept that I could be so detached I guess u could say.

I could never kill an animal unless it's hunting for survival, although I did shoot one wild rabbit when I was younger with my grandad.

I don't know if it makes you feel better - but consciousness develops around 6 months so if its before that point you can't really saying you're killing someone.

I killed my pet hamster when I was a child. Also killed a bird. Didn't kill them out of malice or the enjoyment of hurting a creature. I did it because I had a VERY hypersensitive response to fear. I was three when I killed the bird. It flew down and hit me and I killed it by stomping on it. My hamster bit me and I bled...which at that young of an age scared me enough to smother it. I haven't killed anything since, but I still over react when I'm scared. Now it's just in the form of panic attacks and being overwhelming cruel with my words. Just another thing to add to the list of why I shouldn't be here.

Other than bugs and animals I've accidentally hit on the road, No. Also want to add that I wouldn't try to run over an animal. I try to avoid them whenever possible but if it's a choice between a small animal and my car, I'm not going to fuck up my car.

I remember accidentally killing a pet fish I owned when I was roughly 3 years old. Picked it up out of it's tank and dropped it on the floor. I still feel terrible and riddled with regret about it almost 20 years later.

One day I was riding my motorcycle. In general I am a very law abiding rider. I wear helmet and gear, I don't drink etc. But for some reason that day I crossed a red light. It was 1 am and there was no car to be seen, so I checked and turned right. In North America it is not illegal to do that but in Europe it is.

500 meters after the crossing a stray cat tried to cross the road running and I hit it by mistake. I managed to keep my bike steady so I made a 360 turn and went back to check the cat. held it into my hands and it was bleeding from the mouth. I placed it near a tree and called my dog's vet for help but the cat was pretty much gone by the time.

I started crying at that moment and I still remember it to this day although I know that it is not my fault since the animal came in front of me on the road I can't bear the fact that if I hadn't crossed the red light I wouldn't have hit it.

I never crossed a red light again.
