What do you mean by your question about it being a solution?

When I was 11 one of our cats gave birth to a litter of kittens (we were poor and didn't have money to get them fixed), there was one particular black and white spotted little guy who took a liking to me and would climb up my legs to get my attention. One evening I came home from school, my parents were out for several hours. I was exhausted and I ran into my room and jumped on the couch, which had a blanket on top of it. He was hiding under there. I still remember the sound, and crying profusely calling my mom who wouldn't pick up, and looking down at the poor guy still breathing. I have nightmares about it to this day.

You have to tell me if you're a cop. :pfff:
I'm not a lot of things including a police officer. I smoked weed from 1992 until last October the 16th. I miss it but I get panic attacks out the wahzoo.

I was referring to Hmong Shamans, and other ancient cultures. It feels to me that humans are devolving and our laws about death are inhumane. Also this is a suicide site so it hits close to home.

I think most everyone here agrees that the criminalization and denial of self determination today is awful. I feel like there's a leap between that and killing other beings, though... I'm not familiar with Hmong or other shamanic cultures, but I feel like animal sacrifice is cruel.

Factory farming is cruel. I don't ever plan on harming anything but I don't judge one reason to murder over another.
I learned about Hmong from a riveting book called The spirit catches you and you fall down..

Killed lots of things. Some by mistake, some to feed to other stuff. I eat meat so I'm indirectly responsible for lots of animal suffering.
I once ran over an adder crossing the motorway.

Like the guy above me, killed a good amount of things. I have no problem with it or the idea of killing, since just about every animal will kill you without thinking twice about it.

There's even groups of people in certain countries that do the same thing and sleep good that night because of it, so I got rid of that part of me that had a problem dropping a person when needed

I accidentally killed a bird when I was like 11, I guess. It fell from the nest on the laundry's roof and when I found it in the sink, I put it by the window and left bread crumbs nearby. The next morning it was dead. Now that I think about it, perhaps it wasn't my fault at all.

Some insects and plants.
Once I killed my sleeping regime, but that is a different story...

I used to hunt. I love shooting but I refuse to hunt now. The world is already too violent for me. I do not criticize hunters. I do understand that there is a purpose for it. I just choose not to. So yes, I have killed animals and I still remember their eyes. It haunts me.

What if sacrificing life is a solution? It's wrong how we can have factory farming but if you want to sacrifice another creature for a spiritual pursuit that's when the gov gets involved.
Once thing is getting food, and another very different is having fun.

Sacrificing life is an ancient spiritual ritual.its not for fun. I personally couldn't do it. It feels like we devolved.

I've killed hundreds of people with bombs and guns. Had no remorse for what I had done. Grand Theft Auto game has turned me into a rebel.

Irl though, I have killed deer, fish, and squirrel while hunting and fishing.

The gov should get involved in killing animals for most reasons imo, and surely for the reason of eating them, which is unnecessary.
