My next question is this, and I feel that for most of you, this system is quite suffocating.

Yeah. The prospect of having to file for disabiliry in the futiure, when my mother can't provide for me any longer, contributes to my suicidality. I know they try to humiliate you at every step of they way to keep the number of recipients as low as possible. Not being able to stand on my own two feet is already humiliating enoigh for me. There's also a good chance of being denied, especially with the new rise of libertarian/fascist right, who want to massively cut back on social spending. Not looking foward to itt.

No, it isn't capitalism that is the issue but rather human nature itself. Under any system, there will always be those with power and those without and there will always be the former exploiting the latter. It doesn't matter what economic system we're in, as long as we're powerless, we'll always get exploited. It's human nature itself that makes me suicidal as it's because of human nature that I'm forced to slave my entire life away to some elites. I'm also forced to slave even further to prove that I'm better enough than the rest of the competition to prove that I am eligible enough to slave away. Which is so hard to do as a neurodivergent

Germany. I know I'm still very privileged compared to the rest of the world but this country is not the socialist utopia overseas-people imagine it to be. The world economic crisis has hit germany really hard and the right is using the widespread anxiety to weather against welfare recipients, saying they are too blame, that noone wants to work anymore (even though unemployment is at a record low), blah blah blah. Very cheap, but it works. Seeing their polling numbers makes me want to jump off the nearest bridge (only on the days where I'm well enough to think about the future though).

No, I don't think any political lens is the right view for seeing why our reality is hellish. I think any political or cultural narrative only obscures and prevents the best small scale solutions in our world. Capitalism has almost nothing to do with the animal that is crying in pain right now as its eaten alive, nor did it a hundred thousand years ago when the concept didn't exist and countless beings were raped and tortured. It's rather the other way around, that the horror of reality expresses itself in the various systems humans use to organize their reality. No matter what system humans organize under, it will either be evil or it won't survive, as a function of fundamental properties of reality. In that sense, seeing the world in a political way or a cultural way is almost always a tragic distraction and confusion.

Yes- directly. From a selfish personal perspective, there are fewer practical creative jobs out there because I suspect CGI, CAD and 3D printing is cheaper. So- my coping mechanism for dealing with this shitty world is being swallowed up by computers and people who would rather pay less for things. Which is fair enough- they likely don't have the money to spend but it means more and more creative people end up doing jobs they hate to survive.

Which may sound whiny and privilaged to people who also hate their jobs but I just think it's sad really. Plus- it's wrong that they offer courses that cost thousands of pounds if you can't get a job in it at the end! How many people actually end up doing a job they studied for? I'd love to know the statistics. How many square pegs in round holes can truly be that happy?

If we're to become wage slaves anyway, why are we given the illusion that we can pursue our dreams? I guess because some people do and succeed I suppose. Survival of the fittest and all that but yeah- I hate it that so much comes down to money.

What's even worse of course is when it affects the serious things. All of the above was a very self indulgent, privilaged rant. What really gets me about this world is when large corporations and countries put profits over lives.

Research any of the following and you'll be utterly appalled: The Boeing Max disasters, Dupont PFOA (C8) Teflon pollution, the Bhopal Union Carbide gas disaster, the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl. All instances of companies cutting costs, doing poor maintenence, deliberately polluting and killing hundreds if not thousands of people to save money. Most of them cost millions if not billions to try and put right! (So- how did they save money in the end?!!) If they were even held accountable of course!

Compare the compensation that the Bhopal victims got to that that Dupont have- you'll see how much a human life is worth! Answer: It depends where you live... Look at how much these companies had to pay out for knowingly killing people compared to their profit margins. Look at how well these 'disgraced' CEO's get paid and treated after they have knowingly exposed people to deadly risk, been accused, lied about it, been exposed with evidence and forced to quit. Who does this world reward? The sociopaths and narcissists who get paid billions for being sociopathic/ psychopathic! How can anyone be entirely comfortable living in a world like this?!!

Yep. The system is a bit more, if not, numbers-based than other systems, while at the same time trying to hide the fact.
A good part of it makes it easier, in a sense, to come to the conclusion that life and living or existing in general is a very expensive proposition, and hence CTB is an ideal solution. It's like: ok, i dont wanna play this game anymore, k thanks bye

Personally, I find the system very pervasive, in the sense that even when im planning out CTB I have to factor in additional costs just to ensure the exit that I want, and I don't mean just for the equipment/medication I need for my process.

I think partly yes. I mean most people manage to survive. And there are way less deaths compared to the raw numbers of the wilds but we still have a long way to go for a utopia. Personally I don't want to wait around for something like that and well the rich are the ones that are going to inherit that future. Not us poor peons

Absolutely. I am not designed to function in this kind of society. And the penalty for that in this society, is death.

Also capitalism is a fucking cancer, and those that simp for it are not the brightest bulbs.

Capitalism is inherently expoitatve, it's extractive and unequal. It requires a permanent underclass to function, a demoralized underclass. It fuels so much division among the working class and deliberatly undermines all forms of class solidarity, while encouraging extreme elite solidarity. All by design.

With the advent of neo liberal economic policies, this is a system of all out class war, (poorly) hidden in plain sight. A system designed to extract all the wealth to the top and make everyone else too miserable to organize, or too miserable to do anything really but survive.

I do think we are prisoners of the moment, I'm numb with emotion existing in this world. The way our world is organized and operates makes me want to die. On so many levels.

Capitalism and imperialism and all the related systems of oppression, if they don't directly adversely affect my life, they make me hopeless about the future. You can't therapy your way out of this. Suicide rates are up so it's not just me.

It's expediting the process greatly. We should be working towards a utopia where we don't need money – most "jobs" are unnecessary and don't need to exist, the remaining essential labor can be done with robots and machines running on renewable energy, and many business buildings could be converted into living spaces (which should be a human right). Food can stop being paywalled while people starve, most issues of the world would be fixed, corruption would be nearly nonexistent, many less crimes would be committed, and humans would be equal. But instead, people will suffer and spend their whole lives fighting to get from day to day, forced to focused on themselves instead of everyone being happy together.

I wouldn't care about the system as long as I can benefit from it. Even "non capitalist systems" rely on money on this planet. Money is the fuel that drives the economy on earth.

It's really not that easy to just blame "capitalism" for "misery" there's misery in many "non-capitalistic" countries, too. I'd say, it's even worse there!

Edit: Regarding OP's question: No, capitalism doesn't make me suicidal. It's when I just can't generate enough money (=fuel for a good life) but I'd still have the same problem in a non-capitalistic environment where it is "dictated" what "life quality I deserve" while the rulers of those countries still live in luxury.
