Why is everyone scared of me? They won't come after me. I am beginning to think they don't like me. That makes me sad. I think I will CTB because a pro-lifer stranger under a fake Facebook doesn't like me.

Would it be reasonable to assume that if everyone who was suicidal ctb at once, the Pro-lifers would eventually ctb as well, because they have nothing to do anymore? Maybe they would finally begin to understand what we've been saying to them this whole time.

I know, but the point I was making was that a possible psycho was on the line, one that probably wanted to listen to someone dying for their own entertainment, which is worse than the standard issue script readers you normally get.

I'm not sure that is the only conclusion to be drawn. Other conclusions are:

1. They don't believe the caller will follow through so they are challenging them. (I've seen this tactic used as a more "evolved" means of weeding out those who are not imminently in danger.)
2. If the person calls back with a plan then they know its time to call emergency services to help. i.e. the initial response was to kick the can down the road.

Yes but once again: what are they supposed to do? We can't even help ourselves here. I am in that position - the circumstances of life need changing but that is in the hands of another person so no one can actually do anything to change it. This is a well documented fact within my medical records and the crisis line now just say to me 'we've discussed this already so what do you want from us'. Even Samaritans have got to the point where they agree with me that the only option left is to ctb. When psychiatrists, therapists, hotlines etc all agree there is nothing that can be done except to ctb where would these people in this group like us to turn? If they are so ffffin clever then answer me. I dont want to ctb but I cant live like this so I have no other option. Give me an answer pro-lifers.

That seems like an unusual hotline responder. Don't they usually just read from a script, rather than tell you to call back when your plan is in action? Suicide Hotline Trivia: Ted Bundy, notorious American serial killer, worked for a suicide hotline in the 70's. As a psychopath he was apparently extremely effective at his work and supposedly saved more people than he actually murdered. Great job, Ted...

Although that's up for debate, I guess.

Really though, I think it's a ruse to gain people's confidence, tricking them into believing they have a free choice and that one isn't paternalising them, when really they'll try to subtly push you in another direction, save you. Just my humble opinion, because the Samaritans are also pro choice apparently, but their spokeswoman has clearly stated that she is against this website, which doesn't make sense if she was pro choice and took people's suffering to heart.

The real point here is that if you are having suicidal thoughts who is in the best place to help you. Someone who tells you what you're feeling is wrong. Or someone who is in the same boat as you and can empathise.
As I have previously said no one on here ever tells someone to act, or pushes someone to ctb.
It's fake outrage on the pro-lifers side, virtue signalling because something is wrong in their own life.
I do wish we could have a normal debate with them, censorship doesn't cure a problem it just shuts down any discussion.

That's very true. My mum and I have always had a really good relationship, we talk about everything, but on this issue we didn't see eye to eye for a long time. Understandable of course, but still unrelatable. That's the first time I felt alienated from her, because I really felt misunderstood and like it didn't matter at all what I thought. We've made our peace though.

Actually, the person is posting under 3 accounts: May was first, then we got Yam (May in reverse order), Yam got reported and then we got Charles (who appears to be Yam because he started posting after Yam got reported - but he and Yam have the same avatar).

So it looks like May, Yam, and Charles are all the same person. Maybe everyone in that group is the same person - just talking to themselves.

Yeah, I'm completely disillusioned on this. There are plenty of issues where real debate is avoided at all costs, and instead spoon fed till popular opinion fits the narrative. Shame, because it's in the interest of all of us to have an honest debate and come to the best conclusion. So, this can't lead to any good. But it's out our hands. Just like our organs, which are now simply distributed as they see fit without one's consent. I'm pro-donation, but not like this, you know.

I hate to admit it, but I used to be one of those assholes that would do that. It's easy to not think about other people's problems when someone is in a hurry and stressed out over completely stupid things, but it still wasn't a valid reason for me to be a dick to people when I did it.

Being mentally unstable in general, not just when stuck in traffic, is part of what brought me here. Even though it caused the majority of those instances to take place, I still feel bad about those things. Maybe someday the people who hate us for not sharing their opinions about life and death will feel bad too, but that's probably asking for too much, I imagine.
