i've gotten to a point where i feel like i can deal with the pain of a terrible method, as long as its guaranteed and wouldn't leave me with a condition where suicide becomes literally impossible

i feel this way since ultimately, its going to be finite pain. eventually, ill be freed this world.

so what methods are there? i've only heard about starving and dehydration, other than that it seems like every other method has some chance of failure resulting in disability (brain damage or otherwise)

imo gas is the best in terms of accessibility and has little chance of failure, the only down side is the price, you'll need 200 GBP to do it. other than that SN would be another accessible way but some countries its impossible to find.

there are mega threads that explain methods its worth having a look

There are plenty of accessible methods. There's no need for horrific and painful methods. Check out the megathreads index.

It's so sad that the pro death sadists love to make people feel trapped and under duress by spreading the lie that painless suicide is impossible.

When my time comes, I will die by hypothermia out in the wilderness in cold weather. It's not painful, and it's peaceful. Provided you are not "rescued" (which won't be a concern if I am miles from anywhere) it's guaranteed to work. If you are "rescued" there is a danger of frostbite, if the temperature was below freezing, or of brain damage if you are revived when very close to death. All you need for this method is sufficiently cold weather, but to avoid the risk of being rescued it's also advisable to also use a place far from other people.

Chain weights to ankles throw away the key jump in a deep lake or river etc. Jump off a high building onto pavement. People don't survive these things. Getting hit by a train. Shotgun to the Head. These are all guaranteed to kill someone.

Are you normally comfortable when it gets cold? I find the cold to be so unbearable even when I'm indoors and fully clothed with the heat on.

I'm fairly indifferent to the cold, but that isn't really the issue. If you know anything about travel in the outdoors, you will know that hypothermia can creep up on you, and that it's not unpleasant. I wouldn't just stand still and wait to die. If you do that you would probably notice the cold a lot more. (And it would be very boring too!) I would carry on with my journey out into the wilds, as I have done many times before, but wearing lighter clothes than I would normally do, until eventually the cold would sap my strength and the end would come fairly quickly. By keeping on the move you would be generating some body heat and you would be less aware of the cold.

Incidentally, alcohol greatly increases your susceptibility to hypothermia, because it messes up your bdy's temperature control mechanism. I don't intend to use alcohol. I want to go out with a clear mind. But if you were far out in the wilderness, alone, in cold conditions, then downing half a bottle of whisky would accelerate your demise.
