This is purely a line of research here, I don't have medical knowledge. This is a highly complex thing (the human body), and so many factors go on that are impossible to predict.
However, I've found a few studies that detail some interesting findings from the Internet. Most of them are going to be focusing on gastric motility and emptying rates. Gastric motility is the contractions of the muscles of the stomach that affects how fast food/fluids get deposited into the stomach; gastric emptying rate is the measured effect of increased motility.

THINGS THAT SLOW GASTRIC EMPTYING:
Effects of anorexia/bulemia on gastric motility/emptying speed
-
Effects of opioids and nicotine on motility and emptying rates:
Opioids (4x slowed for morphine, this is absolutely huge! Seems to take up to 4-5 weeks for it to normalize after quitting, although something like methadone would take significantly longer)
www.mendeley.com
Cigarettes (2x slowing; seems to take up to 9 weeks after quitting for motility to go back to normal)
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Cigarettes also increases stomach acid production, which would mean there would be more stomach pain, as SN reacts with acid to create compounds that are highly irritating. But it's complex, and having difficulty finding the study I'd previously found that showed this.

Effects of fasting for gastric motility/emptying of liquids:
24 hour fast (slowed the gastric motility)
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Here's information explaining how fasting longer than 6 hours may slow gastric emptying

-
Effects from dehydration on gastric motility/emptying of fluids (seems to be that the more dehydrated, the slower the stomach empties)
-
Also an interesting finding on stress/anxiety on gastric emptying/motility

THINGS THAT INCREASE THE SPEED OF GASTRIC EMPTYING:
Some very interesting findings!
Effects of lying down on right side in gastric emptying of water (very significant! At least 2x faster than other positions)
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Effects of swishing the mouth out (but not swallowing it, swallowing it slows it) with fructose increases gastric emptying by 20%. Fructose is a very large part of soda pop.
Effects of metoclopramide on gastric emptying on rats (102% increase in gastric emptying speed)
- - -
THINGS THAT AFFECT NAUSEA/VOMITING (beyond just the usual antiemetics):
Chewing gum (negligible effect on nausea, but a significant affect on preventing vomiting)
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

These all seem to show that eating regularly, drinking lots of fluids, and not being on opiates or smoking, lying down on right side, and swishing mouth out with soda containing fructose (but not swallowing), is the combo possible. Not having ulcers, GERD (gastric emptying rate disorder), or other stomach/intestinal disorders would obviously be important too.
There's a lot more that I want to go into more detail on, but still thought this could all be of value.
Would be interesting to hear from people who survived SN attempts, with things like their weight, eating habits, if they take opioids or smoke, and what their symptoms were after taking SN, to see if there's anything that stands out.

Cigarettes (2x slowing; seems to take up to 9 weeks after quitting for motility to go back to normal)
Effects of cigarette smoking on solid and liquid intragastric distribution and gastric emptying - PubMed
Acute cigarette smoking produces excessive antrofundal redistribution of both solid and liquid contents and delays solid and liquid gastric emptying.
Cigarettes also increases stomach acid production, which would mean there would be more stomach pain, as SN reacts with acid to create compounds that are highly irritating. But it's complex, and having difficulty finding the study I'd previously found that showed this.

24 hour fast (slowed the gastric motility)
The effects of fasting duration on gastric emptying in man, an exploration of the role of the endocannabinoid system and inter-individual responsiveness - PubMed
Extended fasting alters the gastric emptying of liquid meals but there are consistent differences between individuals. Where there is an accelerated response to fasting, Rimonabant appears to reverse the effect.

Right recumbent position on gastric emptying of water evidenced by 13C breath testing - PMC
AIM: To compare the impact of the right recumbent position with the sitting position on gastric emptying of water. METHODS: In eight healthy male volunteers, the 13C acetate breath test was performed twice to assess gastric emptying of 100 mL tap ...

Chewing gum (negligible effect on nausea, but a significant affect on preventing vomiting)
Effectiveness of Chewing Gum on Nausea and Vomiting Following Postprocedure: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis - PubMed
The results indicate that repeated gum chewing sessions of at least 30 minutes may act as a nonpharmacological intervention for reducing vomiting. However, further studies are necessary to determine the outcomes of chewing gum interventions.
