I've tried to do things right by the council. I tell them when the drains are blocked or when someone pinched the gate to the field, or when the delinquent sheep are back, but they just tend to ignore me.It really wasn't that hard, it's just like playing a big game of Tetris.
How often do the council even check on it? I'd wager not very often. I say go for it, you're adding value to the land so if anything they should pay YOU for doing it!
When I moved in here, they even actually created a family member out of thin air so that they could charge me more council tax. They added my surname to the conveyancer's first name, and hey presto, extra cash!
I tried to negotiate that I'd take care of the back field for free with their permission, but hey, I think I'll just do it myself then deny all knowledge if anyone complains.
The irony is, when they illegally bulldozed and set fire to occupied allotments several years ago, they also buried all the waste asbestos in a huge pit. And I know someone who took pictures.
So I think maybe the first thing to do is collect more stones to make a little copy of you herb spiral
Annoyingly, there is now a new rooster in the back field, which could cause a problem with my sleep come the spring. I shall probably post a thread to ask advice on how to deal with my 'troublesome cock.'
