  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

First of all - every single person who says "it will get better, talk to someone!" is dismissive self serving POS that just want to feel better about themselves. Here's my short story about "talking to someone".

I meekly told my doc that i feel disregarded and that my pleas for help were ignored by him since I wasn't getting better at all and he referred me to the clinic that doesnt work with people like me TWICE (!). He got sooo fucking pearl-clutchy desperately trying to act non-offended. "Well all of my colleagues and numerous clients would NEVER say that I'm indifferent to my patients!" He threw thinly veiled "do not tell me how to do my job" and even said something along the lines of 'why would you visit me several times if I was such a bad therapist?'.
After that he decided that I need to stop SSRI cold turkey (I've been on that shit for years) and didn't gave me any recommendations or prescription to taper it off.

I don't have any moral to this story - just know mental health rn somewhere in it's 'four humours' era where those hacks will just give you random meds based on vibes and see if you kill yourself. If you are like me and can't identify or put whats troubling you into words then therapists are basically useless. You might find an unicorn that genuinely want to help people but I don't beleive they exist so don't even bother. I'm sure as fuck wont.

In the 1060s doctors started running their practices like assembly lines. In the 1980s, the money to be made industrializing medicine attracted the attention of corporations. It is difficult to find any doctor today that is not an employee of a corporation. Some are well intentioned, but the bureaucratic grind can wear down even the best of intentions.

Given the anemic state of families in general as well as churches, it can be difficult to find anyone who cares enough about you personally to try to help. Some people are helped by the right medication or being processed by an organizational system. However, some need a relationship with someone else and those are becoming increasingly hard to find.

Sometimes people have to hunt on the fringes to find something helpful like calling a nurse at a hospital to see if she know of any groups that meet that you might be able to attend. If you know the odds are against you, you tend not to get too discouraged. There are still people around who can help, it just takes some searching to find them.
