I am planning to desensitize myself progressively through SH (cuts, burns, etc.) so that my chances of leaving within half a year are significantly increased. My first plan was jumping, but I don't get access to lethal heights too often. My current backup is a femoral artery incision.

I am planning to fast a few days before the deed, so that my inner thighs would be as lean as it could get. Then, I'm going to stuff a piece of cloth in my mouth and cut the artery. I am only planning on doing it on a single leg.

Any tips regarding the actual deed and the desensitization approach necessary to go through it without freaking out?

I have debilitaring brain fog due to me/cfs, which causes my cognition to dip from above average to bedrock. Then comes the fatigue. I'm tired of this cruel sentence and am looking for ways to leave after 5 years of hope and despair since the age of 14.

Well, someone's gonna definitely link the non method page. But just hypothetically speaking, I believe the femoral artery is closest to the skin in the groin area, so it is possible to feel around the sides of the groin until you find your pulse. You can then mark that with a pen, make sure it's the right spot, and so on. Definitely get surgical scalpels if you're gonna try this.

I appreciate your decision to engage with my method instead of redirecting me. Personally, I believe that this method has more surety and control over other ones like hanging. Once again, jumping from a lethal height takes priority number one. Femoral is a backup plan, and a quite necessary one in that I don't frequently get access to lethal heights in a secluded area.

Regarding the method itself, since I live with my parents, I don't think I can get scalpels risk-free from anywhere. I was planning to use a shaving blade to gradually nick it. I don't know how much pain I'dve to endure before passing out.

How much does desensitization help? I got into SH just to increase my chances of going through the procedure. It ranges from Ice, lighter flames to dermal skinning. How effective do you think this would be in controlling my reactions at that moment? Everything has been for vain otherwise...

Unless you have something incredibly sharp and you don't mind slashing yourself multiple times in the same area .... cutting a artery takes a lot ... I would know.

I would highly recommend looking into other options

If you do a partial laceration then it will take you several minutes before you begin to pass out from hypovolemia (rapid blood loss). Even if you were to manage to completely sever it. In theory, if your preferred method of CTB is incision/cutting then severing your internal carotid artery(ies) would be your best bet if you want extreme hypovolemia to occur as fast as possible. You would need to do a 4-5 cm incision into your neck near the side of your cheekbone (you will feel your pulse there with your fingers)

You are most likely to pass out from shock within seconds if done correctly. However I can't stress it enough that even that is risky and unreliable since your brain will pretty much stop your body involuntarily.

Hope it helps.

I don't know about the desensitisation because I have (somehow) never SH'd before.

If you can't get scalpels, personally I found a good box cutter set with spare blades for £5 from B&M, which I'm keeping around just in case (but I will probably order scalpels for myself if it gets to the point where I'm considering CTB this way).

In any case, hope you find peace. šŸ’š

Hey man, just thought you should know it's gonna take more than a couple days of fasting to make your thighs leaner. The infamous small thigh is a thing many people have worked tirelessly for to no avail. So honestly I don't understand why you're choosing femoral over arteries in more accessible areas, but I wish you luck nonetheless.

Just keep in mind that cutting an artery isn't easy, it'll take multiple swipes, especially on the thigh. Desensitization could be done through progressively going deeper and deeper, you should try to be at least hitting the hypodermis on average before you can even consider slitting an artery. If you're lucky, you might nick one on accident doing this, in which case you can just take it and run with it. Make sure you use something sharp so you don't torture yourself too much (swiping multiple times is very mentally hard), pink kai razors are known for going deep in a single swipe, but they dull quickly.

You can always keep in mind the method they show in movies; which is to do it in a warm bath, to stimulate blood flow which will both help in bleeding out quicker and decreasing pain. However just keep in mind that no matter what you do, your body is very resistant against hurting itself in this way. Your SI will kick in and they will kick in strong, even before you've gone deep enough to hit an artery, you will still feel dizzy, nauseous, have cold sweats, etc. just from the sheer shock of seeing the inside of your body. My suggestion is to distract yourself (music, alcohol, weed, etc.) and look away when you can, however this comes with the risk of missing the artery when you're under the influence.

I'd tell you that there are many methods that are easier both physically and mentally, have a higher fatality rate & lower risk, and are equally if not more accessible, but I'm sure you already know this, so I won't try to talk you out of it. Although I don't have chronic fatigue syndrome, I do have chronic fatigue as a symptom, so I understand how torturous the brain fog and fatigue is. It takes all of the living out of life. So no matter what you do, I hope you find peace.

The likes of finding information this accurate and relevant paired with genuine empathy is abysymal. I feel lucky to have found this you here.

The most trivial solution to all problems in life is ctb. Most problems have auxiliary roots, but there are some which just shrug. My problem shrugged at me. It took 5 years to even realize that I was chronically sick than incompetent behind my eyes. Now at 19, I am forced to concur. Yes, it's humiliating, but this is the only rational decision that I'm left with.

Well I was wrong in one aspect. The trivial solution doesn't always exist. By physical or mental means, you could be denied the basic right to end your own existence. I'm lucky to not have been in such a dire state so as to be just sentient enough to experience long-term hell. Just a deviant trick my brain tried to pull to feel even a hint of "gratitude".

That said, I've given myself time till next summer (around 4 months). The desensitization is going on well (mid dermal skinning of the thigh, around 1cm^2, burns, cold burns, whips). I changed my plans from femoral to cartoid. Do you have better suggestions? I'll be using a regular shaving blade for it.
