Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I started searching courses that prepare you to work with animals just so I could have things in my curriculum and manage to get a job revolving around them.

However, my real dream job is art.

I just wanted something short so I could finally be employed somewhere...but instead it's more expensive and complicated than uni.

I've even given up searching for art schools around here due to me dropping out of the closest art uni.

I hated it there.

I feel like I won't be able to find anything...no school, no job, no nothing.
I just feel so demotivated.
Like a failure, a bum.

Regardless of your art (painting, writing, music, etc), you might want to keep it separate from your employment. It can hurt to have art you are happy with criticized by an employer.

I talked with a woman once who ran an animal shelter. She complained about getting volunteers. She said most of the volunteer applicants wanted to work with animals, but the work they had was mostly shoveling manure and euthanizing the animals they couldn't care for. They had a high turnover rate.

If you have a sensitive soul, you might consider working in day care. Most of the kids have not turned mean yet. The pay isn't great, but the environment might be more pleasant than putting dogs to sleep.

I understand where you are coming from regarding the consequences of making your hobby your job...however I can't force myself to study or go for a job that doesn't align with it.

I understand it can be painful, but I don't see myself doing anything else. I'd rather ctb than accept anything else as my career

When I was in HS I was really passionate about history but the career limitations and having a strict dad equaled to me not pursuing it.

The best balanced advice I could give you is: do try to look around maybe there are things that is not your main passion but you like them enough or they are interesting enough that you could do them as a job and you can pursue art in your free time.
In case you don't find anything like that then fuck it. Go for art and don't stop until you get it :)
