What happens if we fail to hang ourselves? I want to ask about the possible outcome if I survive, in my case. I am very thin, my last weight was less than 50 or 55 kg, and my height is approximately 169 cm. I plan to do it using a thin scout rope under the stairs of my house. There are a few things I need to consider;
  • I don't live alone, although there is only one other person in my house, my mother.
  • I plan to do it while she is sleeping. Will there be any noise during the process?
  • If the process fails midway because the rope breaks or something, what will the consequences be?
I think using a small rope like that might be enough; the grip won't come loose because it's on the stairs, but I'm unsure if it will break or not while holding me for an hour.

Have you researched Evelyn's guide on here and watched the hanging videos?

The videos show how quickly someone passes out when done correctly.

How thin is your rope, 12mm approx diameter is ideal.

The tutorial is quite long, I think I have to learn just for this one thing haha

By the way, to answer your question, yes... my rope is probably too thin; even to the naked eye, it doesn't look like it's 12mm thick. Oh well, next time I'll invest in a real climbing rope. But wait, is climbing rope sharp? If so, how do I make sure it's not sharp?

Please don't do it while someone else is in your house. Its too risky!! Do it when you know 100% your mother will leave the house for 2+ hours. And also before doing anything learn all the knots and test your anchor point many times. If you fail the attempt you could end in a very bad situation where you'll be brain damaged and not able to even talk anymore and in general you'll lose most of your cognitive functionings. Be careful, very careful! Hanging is a good method because everyone can buy a rope BUT it needs to be done correctly!
