Excuses for self harm?

I've seen ones for arms/wrist but i need excuses for my thighs. They're not that deep but they look a bit worse then something done by a pet, and they're just kind of lines all over the place.

You don't owe anyone any explanation. If someone has the nerve to comment on your body, then you can be so bold as to say it doesn't concern them.

I have old thigh scars from self harming. They are high but I always where baggy shorts or pants even thouh the scars are barely visable since they have healed over the past 10 years.

The best way to get around people asking about them is try and buy clothing that will hide them the most. It sucks but means you will be less likely to be asked about your cuts.

For sure, i thought I was so smart doing my thighs instead of wrists but like I do different gigs as a performer because I love the arts and need to pay for university somehow and my costume shows thighs, I'm going to try to cover with makeup but just incase somebody does notice since make-up comes off.... Also my family is so nosy for no reason....

Personally I don't do arms. I'll do legs (shins/calves and thighs), upper torso and areas of the back I can get. I don't tend to worry about people asking as it's none of their concern but if really pressed I'd say I'm having a pretty rough time in life.

Mine unfortunately are from my wrists up to my shoulders and I just don't wear short sleeves out in public to avoid questions and stares, 2 months ago a guy at work saw the small ones poking out by my wrists, he asked what they were, I said that when I was younger I got into an accident and fell into barbed wire that was the first excuse I could think of, probably not very believable but he didn't really push me after that.
But also remember that you don't have to answer anyone's questions, you could say something like 'I don't feel comfortable and would rather not talk about it' you don't owe anyone an explanation

Anpther option: If you catch someone staring, I've found the following tactic very helpful:
Me: "Can I help you?"

Usually no response. Occasionally I'll get the oblivious, nosy, idiot who says something like

"Those are some pretty deep scars on your arms..."

Me: "Oh, m'kay."
And then I go about my business.

If you wanted to be an asshole, you could just start pointing things out that're obviously, physically wrong with them?

My point is that if you have a bunch of self-harm scars all over the place that you can't cover up with clothing, you have to get comfortable with it at some point.
People will stare, that doesn't mean you have to interact with them.

There was a list on here but I can't seem to find it alot of people blame it on animals or if they're deep then machinery accidents, barbed wire ect.

Barb wire fencing! I fell into a vicious rose bush! My friend asked me hold his pet iguana, monitor lizard, gator, cayman....I was attacked by a rabid squirrel, raccoon, or opossum. My ex boyfriend tied me up and wanted for me to bleed to death.

grow up teenager, you don't need to give excuses to anyone. if someone asks say what you did and why. if you did it for attention then explain as such. who the hell needs excuses?
I have multiple vertical scars on my wrists because I was blackout drunk and cut myself while taking drugs. simple innit?

If it isn't someone who I know personally, I almost always have been blunt and told them I don't want to answer their questions or talk about scars with them. It's obviously a little more stressful with people who you know, especially family.

More excuses for self harm scars: Who knew putting a cat into a pillow case and then into a shower, could make a cat so angry. As God is my witness, I had no idea that squirrel was rabid, it seemed so friendly. My probation officer said if I knew what was good for me, I better not tell anyone! Those were part of my voodoo religion, sometimes an offering of blood must accompany a prayer! I was part of an CIA pain control experiment.
