I seriously don't get why some people hate me for literally no reason. It's like I murdered their family member or something. The random hostility is unreal, especially online. I try so hard to just be a good person, but dealing with this shit is fucking exhausting, and honestly, it's starting to turn me into an asshole. I keep overthinking everything like, am I actually a terrible person? Is it my voice, the way I text? There's literally nothing to reflect on because I didn't even do anything there is no sign or anything at least. I ask my friends and they just say 'they're haters,' but that doesn't make sense Like the other day, I was just talking normally on a discord server and this girl randomly goes, 'I hate this guy so much.' We interacted once
I just wanna know why this keeps happening

If you get a lot of hostility online that's because you interact whit the really wrong people or you are off the subject or something else. Usually online interactions always happen around a specific subject/community and people are not so friendly to ''outsiders''. I have a very hard time whit irl contacts but online i'm well known in multiple communities I love my online persona because you can take any identity and you are judged only on your actions/knowledge. There is no pre jugdment like it happens irl. I suggest you look more into this why it happens you also can't take everything online seriously people act stupid just because there are no consequences.

''just talking normally on a discord server and this girl randomly goes, 'I hate this guy so much.'' Probably you try to mingle into a already made group and someone just don't want you in for whatever or something else online and irl too people hate someone that does not agree whit them, they prefer having only people that agree even if it's wrong then having someone tell them a different opinion.

that's not usually the case. I mostly try to join off-topic servers, and even if it's a specific server, I always stick to the off-topic channels because I don't know much about the main topics. Some people treat me fine, and others don't. I just don't get it
so friendly to ''outsiders''
That's not really true either. I find these servers on disboard and Discord indexes places that are literally made for people to join. They want new members, not to scare people away
nline i'm well known in multiple communities I love my online persona because you can take any identity and you are judged only on your actions/knowledge
That's completely fake. I mean, of course I don't act exactly the same online as I do in real life, but I'm still being myself. Faking a whole new personality is dumb. You probably just don't take the internet as seriously as I do when I talk to people, I'm looking for a genuine connection, not just to troll around and be ironic. I know a lot of people don't give a fuck, but the least they could do is be decent. Honestly, if someone is an asshole online, it usually reflects how they are in real life, too. Sadly, those kinds of people always get away with it
There is no pre jugdment
That's not true at all. I feel like I get judged for literally everything
appens you also can't take everything online seriously people act stupid just because there are no consequences.
That's the thing I can't just 'go outside.' I've been online my whole life, and I don't really like people on my country or out in the real world anyway. Meeting people IRL is weird and nobody really does that . there is nothing outdoor activities to do either to get a life, so I just don't bother leaving the house
Probably you try to mingle into a already made group and someone just don't want you in for whatever or something else online
Bruh, we were literally having a normal conversation in a clearly marked off-topic channel. She had absolutely no reason to come out of nowhere and say some shit like that and it's a public server

That part is true, but the weird thing is that these servers usually have a huge mix of people from all different backgrounds. Yet, for some reason, they all seem to hate me and it's almost always women, too

I'm sorry you have encountered such bad people online. Some people on the internet are rude to everyone, unfortunately. I don't think it's your fault. Try to focus on the kind people. Animehug 1

Thank you, you're very kind. But honestly, even kind people online don't seem to actually want to be friends
No one takes online friendships or Discord seriously they're just there for the attention and dopamine hits from short, casual interactions. Maybe I really don't have a life after all

you are to bound to find these shallow people on public servers. I feel like people bond over playing games together better, we had a minecraft server for that server where we played almost daily but when that got shut down, one of the guys made his own mc server with thats where I found my first friend group. And another time I found a person on gartic phone, we had a really good time playing and after that they invited me to their server.

I really can't play video games because my PC is trash, which is one problem. The other is that I just don't enjoy playing anymore.
Even when I do find people who want to play, it's always the same cycle we play a game or two, and then they disappear or don't want to talk again. Even if they add me to their server or as a friend, they never bother to play again if I dm them. I even made my own server and invited nice people, but most of them are busy, in different time zones, or just too shy. And the rest? They just end up getting annoyed with me after a while and ghost me anyway
I literally have one guy sitting on my friend list right now, and he hasn't dm'd me a single time since we last talked in that server. I tried texting him, and he just replied, What? What do you need?
