The estimated number increases as time goes on, which can be viewed here. The news article from where I learned it is here, and in the article, there's a short film that you can also watch.

[Excerpt from the article]:

As of November 5th, it estimated that U.S.A.I.D.'s dismantling has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children.

The toll is appalling and will continue to grow. But these losses will be harder to see than those of war. For one, they unfold slowly. When H.I.V. or tuberculosis goes untested, unprevented, or inadequately treated, months or years can pass before a person dies. The same is true for deaths from vaccine-preventable illnesses. Another difficulty is that the deaths are scattered. Suppose the sudden withdrawal of aid raises a country's under-five death rate from three per cent to four per cent. That would be a one-third increase in deaths, but hard to appreciate simply by looking around.

The Administration, for its part, has denied causing widespread harm, even as it has made the scale of the damage harder to measure—halting data monitoring and dismissing the inspectors general who might have documented it. This is common in cases of public man-made death. During Mao Zedong's disastrous Great Leap Forward, from 1958 to 1961, the Chinese government released no accurate mortality data. Observers abroad understood that a hunger crisis was under way when China began importing grain, but the scale of the catastrophe was not known until the mid-nineteen-eighties, when the first reliable census allowed historians to calculate that between twenty-three and thirty million people had died.

A fuller accounting of the fallout from U.S.A.I.D.'s shutdown will probably have to await analysis of the United Nations' 2025 mortality statistics, which likely won't appear until 2027.

I do not like the idea of labeling this issue as political, but I'm posting it in this subforum to target only the people that can still stomach the news. Depressing as it may be, I believe it still needs to be passed around and talked about. Perhaps charities and organizations can still intervene if their troubles are broadcasted more.

As a Jew, I wish people would stop using the Holocaust as the "ultimate genocide example" because those statistics are genocide. The deaths in Palestine are genocide too.

We don't just need publicity on this so charities can help, but so sheltered people can see that the genocides of history are happening right now, all over the world. Many of them tying back to the same people.

In my opinion, what you posted is absolutely political. USAID didn't dismantle itself...

@NormallyNeurotic beat me to it - it is political; it was the decision of a psychopathic dictator politician and his administration that led to this.

The people suffering due to this deserve help but charities are only a bandaid that allow the planet and its living beings to bleed dry. As long as the colonial legacy nations of the world which continue to hold outsize power are allowed to keep operating on business as usual, the earth and all its inhabitants - human and nonhuman animals, plants, minerals - will continually be exploited as part of "doing business" while the charity model (oftentimes run by equally corrupt power-hungry individuals) will scramble to clean up the trail of destruction in its wake.

Well, I've heard that the number of dead people in Sudan in just ten days of killing may have surpassed the total of casualties of two years of genocide in the Gaza strip, bloodstains in the ground could be seen from space, this is just in the city of El-Fasher, around 60,000 death.... In ten days. Why?

Well, because humans are pieces of garbage, Sensible people say this again, and again and again, and every time they are proven right, and what do they get for being right? Grief and ridicule, what do the Sudanese civilians get for being in the way of forces beyond their control? Pain beyond measure, where are the morals that so many intellectuals bark about? Nowhere, where are the charities professor jackasses like Peter Singer prop up all the time? Helping rich folk evade taxes while simultaneously making them feel.good about themselves, Where is the progress idiots like Steven Pinker are so proud about? Progress is busy passing the bill to someone or something less fortunate to carry the cost, where are the Greta Thunberg like activistst? Performimg for the cameras or throwing soup at a painting in a first world country museum, do they even know about it? Nah, Sudan is not fashionable i guess, where are the people in a position to do something? Earning the big bucks by being the worst humanity has to offer, where is humanity? Oh, busy giving the reward to the hellspawn preaching advancement, technology, art an science, tools brandished in the pursuit of self gain, what am i going to do about it? Not a single useful thing, other that talk about it in a suicide forum because first I lack the power and second because I always feel like killing myself, not even out of depression, at this point is more like puke inducing disgust with the "human experience", what are you going to do about it? I don't know but my bet is that not a damn useful thing either.

This is us humans, garbage in, garbage out, human life is devoid of value, the Sudanese certainty seem to think this way, judging by how vigorously they engage in the ethnic cleansing of their fellow countrymen, you think you are better because you live in America? You are better because you get to vote in the meaningless, stupid system of a country that has caused untold grief all around the world and then believe themselves to be the good guys because you distribute some bread crumbs in the form of USAID? Think again

Think again
Aren't you just mashing together all the worst stuff globally over the past 50 years, and declaring that the whole?
People democratically voting for increased welfare are most definitely better that genocidal paramilitaries. To clump those groups together as similarly flawed, is just bizarre.

A lot of progress have been made, and most places are fairly peaceful.
