Does anyone else here struggle with an eating disorder (specifically anorexia)? It makes me miserable, but I'm even more suicidal when I feel fat. I know it's awful, and I don't truly believe being fat is bad; it's just been so ingrained in me my whole life that people will treat me like shit, and that I'm not worth anything unless I'm thin.

Anorexic checking in. Yes, I feel the same. I spiral whenever I eat over my set amount per day or basically whenever I am over a certain number on the scale. (Even if I just ate and it's food weight)
It's freaking miserable. It's a form of self harm in itself from starving to mental anguish but I have my worst bouts of SH when I weight check.

Anorexia Nervosa here and yeah people do tend to treat you differently and social gatherings with food are hard since you stand out when you do not eat in front of others. If you do eat you have to be sick just after.
For well over 5 years now I have been struggling with constant purging after eating and my teeth are super bad etc and are falling out, Skin is really bad and breaks out from malnutrition. Low potassium is the thing that could kill you. If it gets low enough it causes issue with the heart. I am on costly meds to keep mine in check which sucks big time.I have anorexia but i've been in recovery for nearly 4 years. It's still hard because eating disorders are so relentless. I wish that voice would go away.

i am a victim of forced anorexia recovery. i cant sleep rn because im hungry af but i believe going below my lowest weight will fix my problems and make people care about me.

i have arfid, and everything involving eating genuinely makes me miserable and is one of the reasons i want to die. eating is a chore i have to do to exist, i don't enjoy it at all, i have no appetite 99% of the time and every meal is completely forced. going out to eat being such a standard form of socializing is so difficult for me because i hate having to force myself to eat, or to be the only one not eating, or to be the one who's difficult about where we go, etc etc etc. it's all so embarrassing that it makes me want to isolate. the fact that i have to live like this forever and there is no real cure or anything for it is so upsetting, it makes me want to die.Similar threads
