Sooo... Here's the deal. I have a prescription for propranolol... But they are only 10mg IR tablets, and the guides I see for the SN method recommend 400mg of propranolol.

Would it be advisable for me to grind up... I guess 40 tabs of these propranolol and mix them into a beverage?

I am not sure if taking this many low mg tablets would increase my rate of puking because of how much powder I would be ingesting. I am also not sure if there is filler to these pills that would pose a risk if taken at this high of a volume.

Bumping this q for propranolol minus SN (hope this isn't unacceptably off-topic but my concerns are very similar). 5g seems to be consensus. Is it dumb to take like more than a hundred tabs at once? Could I ever keep that much down? No cash for antiemetics:notsure: And the impurities mentioned? Is that a relevant factor here?

Pretty much everything honest seeker TydalWave asked:heart:

Idk, but propranolol+cimetidine. Cimetidie will increase the level or effect of propranolol by affecting hepatic enzyme CYP2D6 metabolism.

PPH uses very high doses of everything, for precaution. If you have half of what PPH indicates, in the case of Propa, I think it's ok.

Thank you for your response Parazi. Cimetidine seems to be OTC in smaller doses here which will help a lot. And halving propa will save more than a month of stockpiling. You're great.

it's okay, you can do it.

the vomit chances come mainly from SN, not Propranolol. 400mg is not even 0.5g and you'll be taking probably 25.0g of SN.

about the filler, it's okay too, the substances used to fill are purposefully made to be safe and innocuous.

so yes, you can grind 40x10mg (400mg), though grinding half of this amount is probably less work for you and still effective at blocking the compensatory tachicardia that is caused by hypoxia.

Does famotidine not do the same thing as well?
Hi. The interaction checker says they are not the same thing. Our objective is not pharmacological. Substances can have very similar effects but acting in other metabolic pathways, enzymes. Staying more or less time in the body.

did a quick review of search results for "propanolol dose", as i'd planned to use this myself, and i hadn't seen the 400mg rec, was gonna go with 60-200mg. the benefits of propanolol are to
1. reduce anxiety by keeping heart rate lower
2. enhance effectiveness of sn
3. propanolol has been used as an offlabel anti-anxiety and migraine headache med, so this will be of use in ctb
it doesn't seem to me that an entire 400mg would be necessary, and propanolol can result in fatal OD's on its own. (not sure ld50) so, for myself, i will likely stick to my originally planned dose unless i learn it's better to do otherwise before the big day.
thanks for bringing this up :)

I did not get that description from Drugs.com interactions checker which I rely on. I thought these tools share same information but the former provides more extensive information.

That's actually the same thing I'm wondering too much medicine could contribute to vomiting because we have the AE'S and the pain killers not to mention the SN. And since propranolol has now been decided as not necessary, I think it's ok to decrease the dosage.

Yeah I already have heart problems and tachycardia so I think I would personally still use a beta blocker cuz dying of cardiac arrest doesn't sound pleasant that is if we are conscious for it

Isn't it a tad low?
You haven't seen all the updates by exit and the thread that @Soon i will be gone made? Taking a high dosage of propranolol and surviving can be damaging.
