Many cases SI taking over control, calling for help, stopping attempt etc.
One should not rush with these things, never do it impulsively.
If 100% that wants to die, done the processing and took efford to plan chosen method as needed, im quite sure one will succeed.
Still with some unsuccesfull cases i read from here made me question sn reliability but always there seems to be some mistakes following the protocol. So prepare and be prepared and succeed.

Ah yes that would be an effective method I think but for me it's impossible to get a gun here. Besides I wonder if I would find the courage to pull the trigger.

I have also thought about stopping with eating and drinking. It seems painless but I need my medicine for my neurological problems so I need water to take my pills. It also takes 3 to 4 weeks before you die. :notsure:
What country are you in, if you don't mind answering?

VSED is lengthy, if SI is an issue then it's one of the worst methods since you can't just have a single impulsive action to ctb and you'll likely end up caving to eat/drink once you get delirious.

Yeah SI could become a problem with VSED.

Netherlands.

Shotgun to the brain, done properly has a near zero chance of failing.
Jealous as Hell of you for having the ability to obtain a firearm. My DREAM CTB method is a .357 Magnum in my mouth - Budd Dwyer style. I haven't given up on accessing a firearm, but I'll most likely be stuck with full suspension hanging as my second choice. For successful CTBs though - firearm is the way to go. I consider it even more peaceful than Euthanasia, due to the quickness of it.

Assuming you are over 18, you could join a shooting club to get a permit. Think you have to be a member for a year and work your way up to higher caliber weapons but I know they can be acquired there. Alternatively, there are a f ew European countries with lots of guns, meaning you could get them off-market there. Main one I think of is Czech Republic, but Austria and Switzerland also come to mind.

Yeah .357 will make a nice big hole, pretty damn reliable. Full suspension with a long drop would be my second choice as well. What region you in, if you are comfortable answering?

All I can say is preperation is everything, especially when it comes to dying. You have to be ready and the ability to overcome survival instinct has to be overcome to a large degree. As many have said impulsive attempts are more likely to go wrong because they are not thought through properly. All the best to you all.

I think the failures only make me more resolved to make sure that I don't fail with my method. You know, making sure I cross all the t's and dot all the i's. When I go through with it, failure is not an option.

Yes. The fact that the outcome of ctb is unknown and not guaranteed puts me off. I wish I knew beforehand whether I would be successful or not. It's such a big risk. I'm most scared of failing an attempt and being left with permanent damage. The fact that people have failed makes me nervous to attempt, and I'm not sure if I will ever have the courage to. It gives me immense anxiety because there's always a possibility for failure
It won't fail if you plan it properly - and you are intelligent enough to plan anything properly if you put your mind to it. (I have already said all that I want to say about your views, and I'm not going to repeat any of it. But my opinions have not changed.)

Shotgun is certainly a bit brutal. I would preferably not want to scar the ones who find me with my brains scattered across the room.
This was one of the reasons I didn't have the courage to pull the trigger when I had the barrel of a loaded HK416 against my head.
Had recently learnt that the high velocity rounds of 5.56 tend to not penetrate cleanly through bone but rather take a chunk with them when exiting. Regardless of whether that would actually happen or not it just made me imagine the top of my head being blown off like the lid of a tea pot and my brain seeping out. Made me sick.
But... there's a reason a gun is the most successful method and I still regret not pulling the trigger since I too am in the same boat regarding the availability of firearms.
If I had a revolver I don't think there's a world where I would still be here today. It would be so easy to just get drunk and muster up the courage to do one russian roulette every now and then to further lower the mental barriers.
