I don't believe in God. God gave us free will yet acting in a way he doesn't like damns us? People don't choose their nature or environment. People who were born in other religions often tend to stay in that religion. Are they destined to go to hell because they don't believe in God? Is that fair? God only exists because people want God to exist, so that their lives have meaning, so that they no longer fear death, so they can feel good knowing that bad people are punished. God is a tool used to control others through fear. Also, even if someone were the most terrible person in the world hell would not be fair. An infinite sentence for a finite crime. There is also the Epicurean paradox that shows that god is either not all-powerful, omniscient or is just evil. There is other stuff but this is all I can think of in the moment.

Yes i fully agreed on this.

I am a non believer. However, i don't mind there is a powerful higher being to relief us poor mortal of all the pains, suffering and agony.

Deus só existe porque as pessoas querem que Ele exista, para que suas vidas tenham sentido, para que não temam mais a morte, para que se sintam bem sabendo que as pessoas más são punidas. Deus é uma ferramenta usada para controlar os outros através do medo. Além disso, mesmo que alguém fosse a pessoa mais terrível do mundo, o inferno não seria justo. Uma sentença infinita para um crime finito. Há também o paradoxo epicurista, que mostra que Deus ou não é onipotente, onisciente ou é simplesmente mau. Há outras coisas, mas é tudo o que consigo pensar no momento.

I agree with you, perhaps God's origin began in the very beginnings of humanity, to contain promiscuous peoples like Sodom and Gomorrah, to instill fear in tyrannical kings and resilience in suffering slaves. My concept of God would be only love, and not all that humanity has already gone through, is going through now, with endless wars and pure, defenseless little children dying. Ah, but there's free will, but why would a God of love create this? To test humanity? To me, that's not good, it's not love, but rather sadism, and it doesn't fit with a just God of LOVE!!

Relax, I understand your point... so, according to God's rules, we can't end our suffering, we have to keep going, rotting in physical and mental pain, until He decides the time has come? Does that seem fair to you? Does it seem like it comes from a loving Father?
