Discussion does anyone else not care about potential pain when ctb?

Hi!!! My most likely method would be by train, I live in the big city,, lots of transport... many stations and tracks thankfully.

But if that doesn't work out, im also really content with the idea of just.. maybe just hurting myself really bad to die instead (in literally any way.. has anyone ever stabbed themself to death?!)

But when i mention it, people always mention potential pain but i reallyyy dont think I care about that at all.
but I do know thst a lot of people want to go peacefully

The fact is, that even if u have a good tolerance for pain, at a certain point it would hurt to much and u would stop. I've been cutting myself for lots of time, somi have a good tolerance, one time i tried to cut my veins to end it in a bathtub whit alcohol to fell less pain, but it was really fucking to much. So not a big fan of very painful way

I've been cutting myself for awhile aswell. i don't think I've ever hit a point where it's too much but then again i haven't attempted that way before.
is it really that bad?

For me it was. But i have to admit the one time i tried i was using a broken razor, not a good blade. This summer i cutted myself with a very sharp blade and i got some scars on my inner thigh that are still red, so maybe it would have worked with that? I guess i will never know

Trains & stabbing are not as straightforward (and therefore not as reliable) as they may seem.

Here's a post from someone who attempted to ctb via stabbing & failed. I think they have since managed to ctb with a more reliable method.

I do care about avoiding pain personally, I already had enough pain in my life, no need to add more.

Also, thinking the act of different than acting the act. There are many cases of suicide where people use very painful methods, like say stabbing oneself multiple times, self immolation, or going by drinking a painful poison or something.

Just like @the_world_is_on_fir said though, at some point you will start feeling the pain, and depending on the method, it could be an extreme pain.

I'm of the belief that most who say they want to feel extreme pain when dying, are saying so out of psychological pain, and if they were to actually go through it, they will probably regret choosing a painful way immediately, especially one that can last for long before it kills you.

I'd love to go peacefully. I've researched a lot about CO but I'm afraid I'd screw it up. Going with 12G shotgun instead

thank you for the link to this post! It really does put it into perspective for me. I believe that I could do what that person did to themself, but I didn't ever consider it to be possible to survive such injuries.

What about trains, though? I know that someone who tried decapitation ended up losing an arm instead -- but is that common?

As others have said, I do worry about pain kicking in my SI. I chose a method that avoids pain not because I personally want to avoid it (I like pain) but because I want to give myself the best chance at succeeding.
