It's a thought experiment. It's fundamenrally human to take positions and adopt attitudes towards things even if they're things we really have no choice about. We're the storytelling animal, for whom even reality is fantasy and fiction.
I'd rather believe in reincarnation. Like all suicides, I love life, just not this one.

I'd like to be reborn as a spirit so I could watch over other people, like a guardian angel — or answer tarot cards, give lucky numbers, make someone win the lottery, whisper something about the future to someone on acid to make them go crazy over it, hide on a children's closet or under their bed, or haunt an ugly doll to make someone use her as a plot for a movie and store her in a closed box. Same. The only thing I enjoy about life is sleeping. I imagine death being an eternal sleep. Even if you had a good life once you start getting old your body and mind starts to deteriorate at an alarming rate. I don't think anything in life can make up for aging. I don't want to think about dying again either. I know I can't enjoy life knowing how everything is ultimately pointless.

I use to want to be reborn with substantial quality of life being without any physical health conditions, healthy brain, social skills, high self esteem, no traumas but idc anymore just to go through life again just to procreate even if it does have quality to it. If it's reality equal to heaven but it's in physical construct, then I would sign up because experiencing heaven on earth sounds interesting. Anything below that then I would choose eternal nothingness.

Why to be born in a world involving discomfort, pain and suffering in the first place? To be brainwashed that it's how God wants? That I should be grateful for life and be society's "means to an end tool"?
