I still do this sadly, idk or I'm that odd guy making a random suicide joke "what plans do you have man?" "Ehh might go home and kick the ol' chair out" lol the looks are priceless... but it is like an obscured silent cry in a way, I can just distance my mind from my heart, so to speak, sometimes.

I get that. Sometimes my old habit comes back. I also can't make that separation between my heart and my mind and it absolutely fucks with your emotions and thoughts.

I care very much. I know it's silly, because who is so important that their opinion of me should affect my self-esteem? But if someone doesn't like me, or even seems fatigued in general or irritated around me, I get these "flashbacks" and feel like horrible shit for an unreasonably long time. Lol...

In the vast majority of cases, no. In some small number of cases, yes. But I get over it quite quickly and it's really only ever a damn, that's unfortunate kinda thing if I respect the person. It never fucks with me to any great degree.
