I've sort of made my own pascal's wager for this question. I don't actually know if there's anything after we die, nor can I prove it, and good luck asking anyone who's dead; I figured however, that I might as well believe in something nice. Something I'd want to exists forever in, and it's not that difficult to imagine such a thing for me.

Fuck it, I'll share it right now:

Here's what I think, the afterlife is a massive mega-city. Every sentient being that dies ends up in this city, which is composed of not just humans, but all sorts of species from across the infinite universe. There is a common language, so everyone understands each other. There are modern appliances and futuristic technology, some of which automates the labor needed to upkeep such an impossible engineering feat, and it's so complex no one can grasp how it works, it just works. This city has sectors which are better build to accommodate certain species, say, bipeds humanoids with 2 grasping limbs, something along those lines. My ideal afterlife would be to be given housing in this mega city, and spend my eternity consuming the endless art produced by its denizens, including -but not limited to- books, paintings, videogames, food, movies, and so on. Ideally, I'd also like to make friends.

So yea, that's my unhinged afterlife. Anyone is free to steal this

I think there is a God but since he is all knowing he understands EXACTLY how I feel even if no one else does. Something tells me he will understand and punish me accordingly. I'll face judgement and then it will finally be over. Eternal peace with equality and equal love for everyone. No more being inferior to everyone.

Everyone wants to say Jesus loves you and stuff though. If he loves me like you say I want to go join him instead of being here. If I am wrong I'll never know but at least I won't be in perpetual misery either way. Neither will the people around me. They might finally have the nice normal lives that they want.

im not willing to wage wars over it or mistreat others differently than me because of it. I don't think that's what Jesus was about. Modern organize religion is no different than any other group. They only help themselves or those who have donated in the past. There is no reason a non-believer in this modern world would want to be a Christian because organized religion doesnt do shit for anyone but themselves. That's not to say all Christians are bad. Just organized religion as a whole doesn't look good.

Nothing about organized religion says "I want to be like those people!"

The people who helped me the most in life when I was in bad spots never went to Church on Sundays. To me, that speaks volumes.

What I was told is after you die your soul leaves your body and goes to the afterlife. It goes somewhere the good place, the in between place or the bad place. In the past I've been afraid to CTB Because I had the thought Of my soul just lingering over my body unable to move more than 10 feet in any direction. I thought staring at a wall for eternity seemed to be a worse fate So I would convince myself to go back home And not do anything that night.

Then I had the thought that dying a traumatic death Could increase the chances of you getting stuck in limbo. I guess I was just concerned with getting stuck in Purgatory or something. Even if the afterlife is a thing I don't see it being too different from the current reality. We are likely to suffer there as well.

No. Am open for anything, but the religious concept to me has stamped human dogmatism all over it. I'm agnostic, so not against faith per se, but reject organised religion because I feel it's main purpose is to exert control over this world and not guide one to the next, if there was such a thing.

My personal belief is that chances are we might just jump to the next moment of consciousness, wherever and whenever that may be. Nothingness in the cosmic sense is often used to explain eternity, a flawed comparison, because what happened once might therefore happen again. Whatever comes next, may it get better.

No, I very strongly believe that once we lose consciousness that is it for us, we are gone, we simply cease existing and are unable to experience anything for all eternity. The thought of a dreamless and eternal sleep is all that comforts me personally, the only relief lies in the absence of all suffering which only death can bring. I believe that any other theory is invented by humans who were unable to accept that we endure meaningless existences, destined for nothing and nowhere.
