This is probably my favourite topic. I thought it would be okay to post this here this time instead of the other part of the forum to help pass time. Maybe we can learn something from one another or just have a nice chat.

Omg I had a whole Panpsychism phase ngl. Have you read 'The Hard problem of Consciousness'?

No I haven't read that. I like to listen to different theories on consciousness mainly by various physicists and their reasoning for it.

Read itt it's pretty good. What theories are you interested in atm?

I've been listening to a lot on consciousness being fundamental. Some physicists talking about this were also talking about quantum entanglement and other ideas. I have to dumb it down sometimes if it starts going over my head because I don't have a science background, but some people break it down in ways that are easier to understand.

MHMM that's what panpsychism is all about!! It states that conciousness is a fundamental property of all matter.

I've read up on the quantum entanglement stuff as well. I think the main caveat with that is decoherence. Like as of right now, we only 'observe' quantum entanglement in HIGHHLY controlled, coherent situations (it's very delicate/fragile), and our brains are anything but controlled. They're warm and messy and wet which makes it very difficult for quantum entanglement to occur. That being said, there's ongoing research (i think its ongoing idk) about quantum entanglement being observed in magnetoreception in birds. I dont remember the details tbh but something about electron spin states giving birds directional information from earth's magnetic field. But also if that's the case then these quantum entanglement states are rlly short lived, plus as much as I remember I think all the evidence was indirect. I'll try to link a paper down below so you can read further. There's also the Orch-OR theory which I know NOTHING about but it seems interesting from afar!
Nvm I just reread above that you've been listening to physicists so I'm assuming you'd prefer videos:
Here's a link to a video about the bird thingy
Here's a video about the Orch OR theory

They're really nicely simplified and then they build up. I don't have the strongest science background either so these types of videos are sick

Oh I see. I feel like I may have heard the term panpsychism before, it sounds familiar. Ugh I've had a rough several days. I just want to know why I'm here on this Earth to suffer endlessly. In my view if there's no point to it, then it's definitely not worth it. If there is a point like soul evolution, then it may make more sense as to why I need to live through all this, but it still wasn't worth it in my view.
