Most of the CO threads go into great detail about chimney starters, meters, complicated locations etc. But looking at successful suicides in the news it's clear all that is needed is:
a) A small vehicle
b) 1-2 disposable bbqs (in the foil trays) totalling 1kg charcoal
Simplified method:
1) Light disposable bbqs outside until they stop smoking/flaming (20 mins)
2) Bring inside car and put on bricks / water tray in boot

It's clearly effective. These stories are encouraging for me as CO in a vehicle was my #1 choice (until I went down the SN rabbit hole) and I'm reminded how we over complicate things.
How many of the above stories even involve benzos/booze. They just got in with the bbqs and stayed in. 1-2 hours seems enough with 1kg of coals in a car to CTB.
I like the minimalism of it. Same with the Asian car CO suicides. Nothing fancy, just getting in with their charcoal stoves:
