For people struggling with exercise or time to exercise and start off with 10 minutes a day walk outside in nature. Yes, 10 minutes a day might make you say "how will that help me?" but go ahead and do that for 2 to 3 days straight and come back and tell me
It truly did, i always wanted to change my bodyshape so i got really into it, a series of unfortunate accidents have made me unable to workout anymore, though :(
It's not a cure, but it did make my body stronger. I'm sick less often, I can defend myself easier, and the burned energy helps me sleep. People are also kinder to me when I'm thin, noticeably so. Most of my social entanglements are just people wanting to take aesthetic Insta pictures. I only do pilates, though.
I think all of that helps make life more bearable, but it doesn't erase depression.
Indirectly. They'll ask to hang out at place good for photos (botanical garden, museum, etc.) and match outfits. Then, we take about a billion pictures and film tiktoks for them to post. Then we go home.

Yes, a lot. Both with anxiety, but also depression and overall energy and how I feel about my body and what I can do in my everyday life.
It does take time, though, especially if your metabolic health is less than optimal, which can make the effects of said exercise less beneficial for you compared to a healthy individual.
When I trained for something my rest days would always include at least walking as that's extremely low effort and won't impede actual recovery times — unless you're doing something crazy ig.

I have been a gym goer for almost 10y. No meal plans and workout regime just simply being there. 3 months ago I started a meal plan and followed a regime and I could see changes with my body. My body was okay to begin with but working out makes me look better.
But I could tell you that it doesnt help much. I always ruminate or even cry at the gym. The feeling is temporarily I could say. Maybe it will take time for all of us. It could be 1 month or 6 months or years for some people. I came back to the forum after being dumped by my ex (he moved on happily within 7 months) and here I am, still the same person. Still pinning over him. Life is miserable
I personally think it's purpose within the exercise, rather than the exercise itself.
Heavy exercise exausts me, so I do light stuff, like brisk hour-long walks. If I'm in a slump, depressed, then any kind of exercise is numbing, but not necessarily helpful. But if I'm walking, thinking about hanging out with a friend later, or cooking, or overall ambitious about anything, it feels nice. Some may have goals directly related to the exercise, such as losing weight or gaining muscles. I definitely lost a good amount of weight which boosted my mood and self-image.
If you don't have anything to look forward to, combining exercise with self care is the best way to go, even if it means taking a long bath afterwards, or buying something nice.
I have a few chronic joint issues due to a childhood injury, which make it difficult to consistently exercise. I found the most running I could do is about 3 miles once a week -- any more than that causes my knee pain to spiral out of control. I also have a chronic lower back issue that makes lifting heavy weight nearly impossible.
I do find mental health benefits in aerobic exercise, but I'm always putting myself in pain as a tradeoff.
Yoga has seemed very beneficial, though I can't do all of the positions due to my knee.
