So I was looking up organizations that do assisted dying, and came across an article. I didn't realize Daniel Kahneman had gone through with assisted dying. It kind of blew my mind. Sounds like he basically had the death I wish I could have. Went and visited with his family and friends, then got on a plane. Supposedly, as far as we could tell, he was fairly healthy.
To see such an accomplished and intelligent individual decide it was time . . . I don't know, somehow makes me feel better. I think there is this bias that suicide is never the answer . . . but I mean we all fucking die. When it's time it's time. I don't think there should be any shame in it, and I wish we were more accepting so we could make it a beautiful thing instead of a horrible one. If I somehow don't end up going out soon(ish) I want to become a right-to-die advocate in whatever small way I can. No one should have to die alone. Everyone deserves a beautiful end.
