Help CTB via gun?

I'm planning to ctb soon. I plan on either legally purchasing a 45 ACP hand gun or a shot gun.

I have checked out guides here but I am rather confused on where to actually aim. Would a shotgun be a better bet of success than a hand gun? Don't want to become a vegetable.

Do not try to offer help or whatever, planning to only use this site till I get a good answer. My goal date is end of this week as I live in a really pro gun state.

A shotgun to the head has a higher success rate than a handgun (works about 98% of the time). Really the only way to survive is by putting the barrel under your chin and leaning back therefore missing any vital areas. This is the method I hope to use soon.

This is my method of choice if I ever do decide to go through with it. I'd say a shotgun is superior to a handgun. Far more brutal but more lethal as well.
