It was hard to find this news somewhere else except for yellow press, because there are things THEY (government, mass media) don't want to tell us. However, some things may become known anyway.
A novice at the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius monastery in Sergiev Posad who was diagnosed with coronavirus died on Sunday two days after he escaped from the hospital and attempted to take his own life, the monastery said. Following media reports that the novice had set himself on fire, Russian Orthodox Church archpriest Leonid Kalinin told the Govorit Moskva radio station that the 90% of the priest's body was covered in burns.
In early April, D. Pelipenko fell ill, later he showed signs of covid-19, after which a decision was made about his hospitalization in the 119th hospital of FMBA.
On the night of April 24, Dmitry went down from the seventh floor of the hospital to the first floor, knocked out a window, went outside and self-immolated in front of the temple of the martyr Galina of Corinth, located on the hospital grounds. Before that, he destroyed his passport and phone.
Within two days resuscitation measures were carried out, however, the loss of about 90% of the skin caused the death of D. Pelipenko on Sunday, April 26.
Presumably, the cause of D. Pelipenko's actions was the presence of mental illness, which is confirmed by his treatment in a psychiatric hospital two years before entering the monastery. The presence of a mental illness was not known to the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra.
Three months ago a graduate of the Orthodox gymnasium hanged himself on the cross.
