«It's just stress, anxiety, psychosomatic, it isn't terminal, people have more critical conditions...»

Why can't anyone understand that a diagnoses doesn't have to be deadly for it to be severely debilitating? The fact even medical health professionals show this sort of apathy has made me feel so hopeless.

Yep really sucks. And it seems to be so very commonplace.

Chronic illness feels like dying slowly, inside and outside. The worst is when you are ill but forced to push through symptoms constantly in order to try and survive, and get no help whatsoever. Sometimes I think I would have rather been alive 100 years ago, because at least someone in my condition would be given painkillers. In the times we are living in now, doctors and nurses smile apologetically, knowing they are hanging you out to dry, when they send you home to suffer alone with nothing.

I am at the hospital again because I had such intense pain and spasms that prevented me from even moving because it was too much. My grandmother was alarmed by my twitching and called an ambulance.

If they don't provide any form of treatment again, I will CTB very shortly after my discharge. I cannot bring myself to live like this for much longer. My QoL has lessened too drastically for me to try and live with my illness anymore.

The prospect of a life dominated by a debilitating chronic illness has promoted many to seek a ride on the bus.

Ditto to all these comments.
I still think sometimes what my life could have been like without my primary chronic condition. No pain. Energy. I'd be free.
Best wishes to all.

I have chronic illnesses with no cures and disabled with chronic pain 24/7. The pain has been increasing, and doctors are just telling me to accept and live with the pain.

I don't want to live like this. I was heartbroken when my SN from DMC was lost in the mail :( I don't want to be in this body anymore.

Someone please help me

I really relate to everything you all are sharing. I have a ton of chronic illnesses that are degenerative and I keep getting pain conditions from things that shouldn't cause long-term pain like injuries and infections, etc. Now I probably have CRPS and I can't even walk or eat normally and my quality of life is nonexistent. No one cares and no one relates to me anymore and all my friends are freaked out and can't handle it and just try to fix me or tell me I'm supposed to be positive. Doctors just make things worse and give me treatments that make things worse and one of my conditions is from a medical injury. It's so unfair.

The medical field can be really disappointing at times. It's frustrating when your condition is downplayed just because of your age, mental health. I've been dealing with pituitary and lung issues for a long time. I was accused of faking my illness by doctor who ignored and dismissed my pain.

Has anyone else here gone through a similar situation? How did you cope with being misunderstood by healthcare professionals?

I have an aggressive case of MS called tumefactive and bipolar disorder. I have lost my career, my car, my boyfriend (he hasn't touched me in four years), the ability to feel sexual pleasure, I am a bowling ball due to the olazipane, I lost my cognition, and my pregnancy died. Every day is jagged suffering.
