• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

If I go to a random department store and buy rope, do you think anyone will bat an eye? I may be vastly overthinking this but it would be quite awkward if someone asked me why I was buying some rope.

Don't know where you live, but in the US, store merchants couldn't care less why you buy something, as long as you give them $$$. It's all about $$$.

Hello,
How about coming up with some excuses?
I thought up "I need a rope for my DIY project" and looked for a picture of a shelf like this:

I bought a rope in May 2023 and no questions were asked. I live in Japan.

My coworked explicitly joked about me hanging myself when I bought rope from my store. Helps with the motivation, I guess...

Yeah I'm probably going to say something along those lines if they ask, but its in the US so I highly doubt they will care.

Try a hardware store. If they have rope for sale, they really are hoping people will buy it. Buy it.
