I think I randomly found this place while searching up the Lost All Hope website.

I didn't make an account until I watched Tantacrul's video, ironically enough.

I came across this site while researching methods on how to end myself. I would sort of lurk on here from time to time and decided to be a part of this community. In a way this site is sort of helping me a little. I enjoy interacting with others who are also traversing the abyss.

I googled ways to CTB, everything is pretty much removed from the results except for self help (etc). There was a really obscure result that popped up- which was a cached copy of SaSu.net, Stan, talking about SN. So I fired up a VPN and here I am.

This place helped me choose a method that is less painful, stressful (on myself and others) and a little bit more dignified compared to jumping infront of a train.

tantacrul for me as well - no idea why he was in my recommendations. soon as he mentioned that a forum exists for this, i dropped everything to go look it up. it's the kind of forum ive only dreamed of existing, i never would have thought one *really* exists!

I watched a YouTube video of someone painting the site in a really bad light. The things he showed though I didn't find them bad at all. I could relate to a lot of the posts. So I figured I'd make an account since this is a site where I can actually speak open about this topic.

I also watched that video and I honestly didn't like the way he talked about the site. He seemed to have a lot of prejudices against it and the people interacting on here.

I found "Sanctioned Suicide" back in December 2022, when I was doing research on the topic of suicide, winter, and the holidays being linked. I instantly liked the forum, as it allowed people to talk freely about suicide. Then, suddenly another shoddy hit piece came out, and I almost immediately signed up for an account, in fear of what would happen. Thankfully, "Sanctioned Suicide" is up almost 2 months later, and hopefully things go back to what it was like in December 2022.

Tantacrul's video, the title made this place seem way worse then it is. When I actually watched the video I thought "Huh. I actually would quite like a forum similar to that, let's do some research and see if it's as toxic as he says". Needless to say, this is not "The most toxic site I've ever seen"

Not entirely surprised to see so many people joined from tantacrul's video, myself included.

I felt a sense of relief when I saw the video in my recommended and thought, "Holy shit, a community, a real one, what is it where do I join?"

Went searching for the name after making sure it was legit accounts and not some gear-mongering creepy pasta type business. Very happy that I did.

Tantacrul's video. I've been on other websites and forums relsted to selfharm and suicide and mental illness, I"ve been in twitter subcommunities relating to suicide and mental illness. His video was a way to warn people about the website but I feel like that backfired on him alot lol. I was scared I'd be denied becausd I found this place through his video, but believe me, since joining I feel alot better knowing that I'm able to talk about my thoughts freely

I was watching a video about controversial subreddits, and one of the ones mentioned r/timetogo. I checked that sub out and found out about the SaSu subreddit that got banned, which led me here. It took some time before I worked up the nerve to create an account. It was just after Christmas that I joined, and well, you know how winter holidays and suicide go hand in hand.

on the clearnet I only found a lot of pro-life bullshit and articles about some "death forum" which probably meant this one. but didn't find a link until my search took me into the dark web where someone mentioned ss on nanochan

i am thinking of doing a poll seeing how many people found this place through tantacrul's video... lots in this thread. deeply ironic. along with all the many issues of the video he should have known that going "there's a website where you can learn easy and effective suicide methods" is going to have people seeking out the forum no matter how much he tried to censor it.
