Beachy head is haunting me...

Everyday! It's haunting me, like... Its calling me too it. Begging me to jump. Fly off and leave this horrible world behind, finally have peace. Is beachy head haunting anyone else?....

I love it up there too, especially on a windy day. (Also, too many people when the weather's good!)

I couldn't jump from there though. It wouldn't be survival instinct that'd stop me, it'd be fear of heights as my legs freeze when I get close to an edge. Besides, I think about the possibility of horrendous pain when I hit the ground/sea... no no, I couldn't do it, no way.

It's more beautiful than the GGB

The golden Gate Bridge haunted me for years then they put they awful barriers up and it became a no go for me. Then I discovered beachy head! I can't believe a place of such beauty and death exists in our country.

Im hoping to jump off it quite soon. The scenery to is to die for if you pardon the pun.

Even though hanging will be my method of choice beachy head may end up being my last resort
what a wonderful thing to look forward to I went there once the place is very haunting it leaves an impression on you.

I had an obsession with it recently. Was going to drive the 4 hours it is from me and jump. Had it all planned out for a day whenever everyone I live with was out, watched documentaries on it, read tens of newspaper articles. But I decided I wanted a calmer, less violent death so will be using SN instead.
Also it's kinda hard to do from Beachy Head as they have suicide patrols 24/7 who will try and talk you down and call the police. Unless you just make a mad dash, but then there is risk you won't jump off the right part and get stuck half way down. They were also reasons why I didn't go ahead with it. But it is beautiful.

Beachy Head looks amazing, 500ft drop so it would 100% (or as close to 100% as is possible) with these things do the job. I'm sure I heard on a clear day you can see France or am I getting mixed up with somewhere else.?

If you're interested in GGB you will like this documentary, it's called 'The Bridge'. It documents several suicides. Very emotional, very haunting. Beautiful!

It's how I would like to die, but having been there I know it's not the method for me. Standing at the edge, it was such a long way down that I couldn't even comprehend jumping.

Standing in a cloud? Gosh that sounds perfect! I've never been but I wish to go visit. I have heard people say it is a long way down, I suppose this is why it has a history of suicide. A guaranteed death! I definitely intend to go next year. Did you take photos?

I've really considered Beachy Head to ctb several times before but ideally would like to go by partial suspension however have tried many times before and just as I'm about to black out my SI autonominously kicks in so as a last resort and final option I've considered it quite alot as there is no going back once you leave that edge so regarless of SI there is nothing you can do about it but been considering Beachy Head or local cliffs as the people who constantly patrol BH would make it more risky and my final moments I'd prefer to be hassle free and admire the coastal view and the feeling of the wind before drawing my last breath although it would be a beuatiful spot to ctb as I've seen so many photos of them chalk cliffs It naturally draws me to it. It's quite a drive for me to even visit but if I ever do I know it'll be like a one way ticket..

That would indeed be a beautiful place to die. If I'd jump to my death, which I won't, I'd pick Trolltunga (troll's tongue) in Norway, though. That ledge was made for jumping.

It has a way of embedding into the mind and becoming an area that you could easily frequent or just not be able to stop thinking about it.

It's a beautiful place and if I had a working car I'd definitely go there. As it is, it takes fucking ages to get there by train and I'd have to catch a bus from Brighton which doesn't run consistently.
Oh yeah, tip to anyone wanting to jump there - don't fuck about, you need to do a good ole run and jump without hesitation. Unless you wanna get rugby tackled and locked away for a while.

Yes it was fatal and it was opposite layby 2.. it's a high point just east of the lighthouse
