A man was found dead today due to an apparent suicide. A nylon rope was around his neck and fashioned into a knot. The knot was just under his left ear, and the rope anchored to a portable training chin-up device fastened to the top of the bathroom door. He was found fully suspended about two inches off the ground with an overturned stool near his feet.
It's estimated he had been dead for about 24 hours when he was found by hotel staff at about 1 pm or about an hour after he checked in. His suitcase was not unpacked except for the chin-up device. His keys and wallet were near him, along with his phone propped up against the wall.
He left a simple suicide note. He had fully paid for his hotel room.
