• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I never got rid of the fear of hell so instead of killing myself I made a confession and went back to being Catholic. Posting on the Recovery board now.

Pray the rosary daily, gang.

I don't like religions because I distrust human beings, who turn them into a business, but in my case I carry a Christian cross with me as an amulet, I try to think that it helps me and gives me strength. Sometimes I think that we are totally alone and sometimes I think that if I don't give up something will get better. I guess there are days when I hate the universe and the supposed intelligent energy that created everything, and there are days when I ask the Universe or God to give me strength to keep trying to change something in my disgusting life of loneliness, poverty, frustration and suffering.

Are you concerned about CTB being a sin?
Bible doesnt explicitly talk about it being one..or at least an unpardonable one.
Would God punish someone who has mental illness, thoughts or extreme physical pain for doing this?
I would hope not...if it is a loving god. Why would it be any other way if this is true.

You mention Islam. This is a totally different path.
It appears there are a lot of unpardonable sins in that path.
Ctb might be one of those....along with a lot of the other things.

It's more of a church rule for Catholics that suicide is no different from murder is my understanding (the church's philosophy being, due to life after death, murder is actually a sin against the people who survive the victim, and against God for defying His plan for that person)
That said, there are circumstances where killing is acceptable, such as self defense (where it isn't murder as murder is the CRIME of killing someone, not the act) and I personally believe if one is in enough pain, or under bad enough circumstances, or outside their right state of mind, suicide as a defense mechanism for one's self could be seen as forgiveable. The Church wouldn't agree, and do not take my words as gospel for even a second I'm just some guy, but that was my mother's explanation after an incident when I was a kid and I've kinda clung to it

I was raised Catholic, I am not anymore but I understand the fears and what you are feeling. I think if you still have your faith, you have to believe that God is still loving and still wants the best for His children. Have faith that He will not abandon you for your suffering, but will greet you with open arms to a better place. The idea of Hell still terrifies me, and though I don't place my trust in any higher power, there are days I wish I could.

I was born into a Christian family, but I have been atheist for a long time.

No longer practicing Christian but there are several verses in the Bible that say nothing can separate us from God unless we turn away from Him ourselves. Anything other than flat out denial of His existence still means you are one of His children. If you know Him, He will still know you.

I have heard Hell described as "being cut off from the possibility of any light, hope, or happiness". Well, if I have gotten to the point in my life where I am willing to kill myself, I guess I am in Hell already so death really will not make a difference. 🤷‍♂️
