As a queer socialist I think I wouldn't lmao. It's amusing that we reached the same conclusion from opposite sides but otherwise there's not much common ground.
As for killing animals, I'm vegan. Seeing the majority of society contribute to mass suffering and murder because yum, bacon fills me with murderous rage. As does knowing that I was one of them longer than not. I wouldn't argue for exterminating obligate carnivores as they don't have the mental capacity to make ethical descisions and require death to survive.
Modern luxuries might? be possible without exploiting cheap labour and slavery. Preventing climate change isn't possible without at least a temporary decrease in living standards. Hence the need to cull the living.
