lol didnt read the above posts

anyway

wouldnt continue living be considered as suffering and burning as well? if u wanna ctb, the world is already a hell to you

and then again

im not into god or the bible stuff, but im sure that we've all made one tiny misstep that would technically put us in hell anyway

its not like only people who kill and do drugs go to hell, im sure there are some lines written in the bible that we've all crossed

but then again

not into the bible

My answer was to reassure the person, Idk why the hell you going all anti-catholic/anti-christian over me, specially since I am neither. I just cited that because I saw on the news, if it was an Orthodox/Jewish/Buddhist leader I would do the same.
All I wrote was also aimed to try and help the OP realize that judging oneself based on hypocrisy rather than the actual teachings of Jesus isn't right, in my opinion. The pope is a symbol of hypocrisy about which Jesus spoke up during his time. Jesus spoke of salvation and that "the little guy" can be much more important than whoever is all big and rich. I didn't mean to insult you so please forgive me. Not sure what was "anti-christian" though.

I wish there was a way to just remove all my posts. I'm always misunderstood and this isn't a place where I want things I say to appear as negative…

I read that the definition of Gods/Goddesses/whatever is a "Personification of Forces of Change." If such beings exist in higher order dimensions and all that then there is no way we can even begin to comprehend what they're like or what they're thinking. So we come up with something we can understand.

So, if you believe in a god, great. If not, that's great too. But it doesn't matter if you believe in a god because the only thing you have any control over is this life. Living it right is the hard part.

In the far-off past I was fearful of a god existing, and the wrath that he/she/it could bring on me for committing suicide, but not anymore. After being alive for so long I have experienced more than enough abuse and mistreatment; as well as the many people in the world who have experienced far, far worse than me...

...where is god?

This made me think that any omnipotent being that potentially exists - religious or otherwise - does not work to help us. God must be indifferent to human issues such as suffering; god must be indifferent to everything. If it does not care enough to help then it should not care enough to punish either; especially if we are assuming that it was a higher power who created this awe-inspiring, but strange sandbox we call "life" in the first place. We had no choice about whether or not to play this game, so we should have the choice to leave.
Well said.

And, especially, being physical illness driving my choice the thought of hell seems especially cruel and unfair.

I don't find this place awe inspiring. It's all we've ever known so how can we say it is? Not to mention when we feel awe maybe it's just primordial fear.

Nope. My gods really don't care about that sort of thing. We don't have a Hell. That's just something the Catholics pinched from the Greeks- the Temu version of Tartarus.

i grew up with pretty religious parents so i can't really help but think that there's a god that will punish us after death

If God is so vindictive that he would punish humans for simply living as they were built to, then I wouldn't want to go to his conception of "Heaven" anyway.

No, not really. If he does exist then he can go suck on my non-existent balls. God can go suck on my non-existent balls. I hope God has a mouth so that he can suck on these non-existent balls. Maybe he could give me a pair of balls so that he could go suck on them.

Now if I was a normal person I'd fully deny the possibility of God existing, because there's no way that we were all created by some magical fantasy creature, who literally no one in the world has seen.
But then how the FUCK do we exist? Who created us? Why do we exist? Literally nothing in the world can prove how we came, neither evolution or the big bang.
The fallacy here is to choose an arbitrary solution: god.

We could all come from "God".
We could also come from extraterrestrial bioengineering, the programmer of a simulation, or we could be part of a larger thoughtform. There's no limit to the number of hypothetical answers to the question, and even if you choose one, it doesn't really answer the core question.
Why is our creator? Why does the creator exist?

I think evolution does explain your how-questions quite well. As to the why-questions, I think "why" is a human construct. The concept of meaning and purpose doesn't exist in math, physics, or science at large. I'd argue that meaning and purpose, doesn't exist outside the mind.

The big bang theory is just a model to describe the evolution of the universe - the formation of stellar bodies and the like. It's not meant to be a creation myth.

I have always subscribed to the fact that our end reflects the universe we were born into.

We believe that we have some higher calling and that our fates are, somehow, more special than others. We can't accept that we die, rot, and fade into the black like the rest of the matter in the universe. We are also terrified of death as a whole and can't accept anything but our ideal solution since we can never experience it more than once.

The universe is coldly indifferent. It just is. I, personally, believe that we fade to black like everything else. We are a whisper among the choir.

If there was a god, it would, as I mentioned earlier, be a bad ending. If there is a heaven, then you become a lobotomized, brainwashed version of yourself and are enslaved to praise them for eternity. If there is a hell, eternal torment. And if you don't choose the right god, you lose.

If there was a god, I never knew him and they never knew me. Any god who believes themselves too good to speak with me or reveal themselves to me in any way is not my god. I'm pretty sure we both hate each other.

I've heard about this, even if i can get "saved" that will probably never happen, since I don't believe in God, or love him, and I can't really force myself to, becoming christian with the intent to commit suicide is probably a sin.
Christian here.Sin doesn't get you sent to hell against popular belief. It's rejecting God as your saviour thay gets you sent. He knew we would all sin that's why the bible says no-one is righteous. If you decide to be one a christian know you will be judged but not punished for your sin ie it's the extra rewards you forfeit

if you sin you have to ask for forgiveness every time you also have to believe in god

Not everytime or if someone died in a car crash whilst swearing they would go to hell. You have to have a repentant heart
