All beings are conscious beings - they just concentrate on living while we concentrate on meaningless shite like social media likes, how much money we have, or what car we drive.I understand what @Endeavour is saying. It is something I still question myself about, I try to stop myself from "making anything out of it." Back in 2018 I excessively used psychedelics for numberous reasons during a 4 month period. During that time there were several synchronicity type events which made me question whether I was going crazy and reality itself. And every now and then since that period synchronicity has sprinkled itself here and there.
These events are real and I consider them to be abnormalities which only happen during very particular times in my life. Due to my mental health and my experiences on psychedelics it makes rational and objective observation on these synchronization events near impossible. So while I do have my beliefs on them I don't take it all to heart.
I would argue that we are special. But this comes from a spiritual belief. Like I believe the meaning of Life is to simply just exist and experience what it is to be alive. There are many quotes which make me feel this way "We are the Universe looking back on itself" "We are the Universe experiencing itself" "The cosmos is within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the Universe to know itself"
This belief need some expanding but I believe that we (conscious beings) are the end result of the Universe. We are it. Why would the Universe be here if there wasn't something meant to experience and observe it?
But the whole special thing is pretty much is the glass half full or half empty debate. It's really about perspective and subjective observations.
We are no more special than an ant or a twig or a stone or a spec of dust.
We simply think we are because we are aware of ourselves, and so we imagine the universe speaks to us because we are the special ones that have a special purpose over all others.
And yet, if this were the case would the world have 60% of mammals being livestock for us to devour, 36% us, and only 4% wild animals - whose habitats we destroy to provide food for the livestock that we are going to eat?
We are simultaneously destroying the world while thinking it's our special dominion because we are spiritually superior to all else, and it's here to provide us and us alone and will do so forever no matter what we do.
The message that the earth and universe is really sending us is - STOP NOW - but we're too pig headed to listen or heed the warnings, because you know, we're special and we can do what we like - God will sort it all out.
Except he won't because he doesn't exist, and then we'll all die. That's where we're headed, make no mistake.
