Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Not sure sasu is the right place to ask there are specialised communities for that on Reddit I think. Idk if you are familiar but they will be much more helpful than sasu.

Yep. It's why I'd rather not have to go to a psych ward where they could potentially take it away from me.

I am very much chronically online, have been for almost 20 years, and I hate it. My life wasn't perfect, but it was honestly better before the internet became super mainstream, back in the 00s and 90s. There are positive things about the internet, I won't deny it, but my social media addiction has been a thorn in my side.

Lately I've been using an app called Freedom to block certain websites and apps. It's not free, but it helps me a lot. Your mileage may vary.

Absolutely. Most of us will be. I will say, I think the worst of it is short form content. Tiktok, YouTube shorts.. etc. I used to be on Tiktok all the time but I cut it out of my everyday routine. It definitely helps to not have to see perfect looking people and compare all day everyday (just speaking from personal experience, it's also better for your attention span to stop watching short form content). If there's a specific app or something you want to stop using, try hiding it from your phone home screen (or computer desktop/task bar) and if you instinctively open the app/whatever you're trying to avoid just remind yourself why you don't want to be on it and try doing something else instead. I hope that makes sense, it worked for me when I wanted to get off Tiktok.

Yes. I've been trying to cut it out of my life, especially social media, but I haven't been successful after multiple years. If I quit one social media, I just jump to a new one. Whenever I'm stressed, I almost unconsciously go to the internet, which just makes me procrastinate + find upsetting content, which makes me more stressed. It's a vicious cycle. I know I feel better when I go on internet breaks, but I just can't seem to stick to it long-term. I don't have anything else in my life that can give as much of a quick and consistent dopamine rush as the internet.

I've been addicted to the internet for decades. It's not going to change now, so sorry, I can't help with that one. Good luck though
