So I've discovered that your body loses electrolytes quickly when you sweat. Tho sodium is lost much more quickly than potassium, and low sodium has worse symptoms. My idea is to consume extremely low calories (150) from protein powder which is only 250mg of potassium per day, but supplement with pure salt (sodium) and drinking water normally. Walk a lot every day, take hot showers (in order to sweat), so in other words, make my potassium levels drop so low that I get cardiac arrest. I know hypokalemia can also lead to respiratory paralysis, which might hurt, but honestly I'll take that if it happens. Low sodium is a lot worse cause your organs may swell up, so I'll try to keep sodium at normal levels.

From everything I've read, the body is extremely good at keeping potassium high enough to make you live, but low enough to not kill you. However, I still believe there must be some way to hack biology... It sounds delusional but I must try cause I really hate myself. I'll also use multivitamins to avoid other side effects.

I doubt permanent damage will happen if I fail tho, cause people literally water fast for weeks with no issues and no supplement.

I think it'll be a bit difficult to resist the urge to seek help or stop when using this method. Uncomfortable methods that take time really increase the SI for most of us

I agree. Honestly the only reason I'm going to try this is because I'm not scared of heart arrythmias. Drowning has the worst SI along with jumping imo. I'll keep you all updated tho

I have to warn you if you're not aware that IV potassium chloride specifically through a vein is EXTREMELY painful. I'm an overall soft person but this is the worst pain I've ever felt, way above SN or anything else, it has kept me awake at night for hours and stuff. If you end up in the hospital and the IV hurts, ask to have it infused through an artery and not a vein, also drink a shit ton of water! Also know that depending on where you live you might have a right to pain management so feel free to demand some even if the ER staff doesn't offer or refuses to give some to you. Also you can easily end up with permanent heart damage so proceed with the caution you deem necessary. Anyway I am not trying to deter you and wish you the best!

I think if a hot shower is that hot... it may feel a bit painful... I was assuming other hot activities, tho still, risky (outcomes unpredictable)

I have had warm/semi-hot showers and I have to drop the temp sometimes (coz I set it to slightly higher than ideal instead of slightly lower... taps are a bit finicky) after a few mins (wasn't painful tho). Tho sometimes the settings are just right (think 1/4 turn of hot and cold... mixing 60C and maybe 15C water to make 37.5C or so water)

I just want to also mention this - this shit burns like literal hellfire. if they give it quickly, it feels like lava is about to melt your veins. there are ways to minimise the discomfort but to be blunt, it still sucks.

low potassium can cause permanent heart issues you probably won't want to have to deal with. but you're looking at a very long, slow onset of extreme fatigue, strong heart palpitations, muscle cramps, possibly breathing issues if those muscles are affected... it won't be a pleasant way to go.

This sounds interesting and useful. But I think you'll collapse easily in any of those walks.

Maybe you had a different kind of potassium infused or a smaller dose or it was through an artery? I mean painful potassium infusion is far from an uncommon experience so maybe your pain tolerance is through the roof so I'd still warn OP about the pain.

Im not sure about arteries but it was inserted into my arm so I am guessing a vein. I had low enough levels for them to give me an IV with potassium.
I don't know what kind was infused. But the salt I.V test was felt much more than potassium

Thanks everyone for the replies and the concern. I'll keep going carefully. If I notice too bad of an experience I'll just stop and slowly reintroduce potassium into my system. I'll also not perform walks to avoid fatigue-related problems.

Honestly doubt this will work cause human body is boss at staying alive. But well... 2 days in already.
